Happy Bday to me!

9th May:
My mother bought a cake from Four Leaves. I've been wanting to try the chocolate classico for a long time but too bad, only coco exotic was available at that time. I will put up pictures of the cake later.
It was such a long time since I had a birthday cake. The whole cake was about chocolate, it was sinful, but oh so nice.
10th May:
My birthday!!
Woke up early in the morning to get ready for the bowling trial at Tampines Safra. I was very nervous as I'm not that good in bowling. I wanted to join bowling as a CCA but first, we must go for the trial and do well. Why can't they just let those interested be a member? Why must they only accept the good ones? With some training, I don't see why those people who are not that good will remain bad...
Anyway, there seemed to be a lot of people who wanted to join, especially guys. Some of which are "professionals", with their styles and custom-made balls. I was placed in a group with 3 guys. God, it was stressful to be the only bad one among them. They scored so many strikes while I had so many gutter balls.
Something embarrassing happened to me during the 5 minutes test-run. I can't find any 8kg and 9 kg balls, so I took a 10kg one. Before I can even roll it, the ball dropped.
After 4 rounds of continuous bowling, I can't take it any more. My left hand and 3 fingers ached. That's 80 'balls' altogether.
I got a 70+ in the 1st round, 30+ in the 2nd, 40+ in the 3rd and 40+ in the 4th. I ended up with a final score of 199 and was the 2nd last among the 24 girls.
We left home for Centrepoint towards the evening. We dined at Ichiban Boshi. I really wanted to try out the red wine raspberry sorbet but it is always unavailable. After that, we went shopping.
A big thank you to all my friends who wished me, many happy returns. It really light up my day.

Pictures from gathering @ Swensens

2nd week of school

Classes had been boring. Classmates were alright, in a way. I don't want to elaborate. Let's just say that them and my secondary school friends are different. Of course, they are all individuals and I can't possibly compare. But, they are everything my friends are not. Blah, Blah, Blah. Those who should know, knew it by now. The point is, I missed my friends! I missed my secondary school life! I missed my class and teachers! Those good old days where we still managed to have fun in spite of the looming "O" lvls. I deeply treasured those memories.
Updates on my poly life will end here, for now. When there are happier things to put here, I will update the blog. To put it bluntly, I'm not having a merry time.
Onto lighter topics, I've been continuing reading some more light-hearted and hilarious romance novels. The little black dress books are really worth the time. I highly recommend Meg Cabot's The boy next door. Nonetheless, the other novels are just as fun.
Books I've read so far: Bad Boys down under, The Cinderella Moment, First Love, Catch me if you can, The Bachelorette party, The boy next door, Simon says and the Love academy.
Enough of my crappy stuff.
My Birthday is coming! In 6 days! Yay to 17th!

Meeting up with friends

Today was super fun. I really had a great time today even though something bad happened.
Since my friend was back from Indonesia, we decided to have a gathering. We were going to Plaza Sing to eat before going shopping. We were so noisy in the MRT, there was just so much catching up to do. It's great to see each other again.
The 6 of us girls went 1st with 2 guys joining us later. After much deciding, we decided to eat at Swensens. We each ordered a main course and spilt up the cost for fries and ice-cream.
After eating, a lot of photo-taking and talking, we went to Wisma Atria to shop.
Unfortunately, when a friend wanted to pay for the clothes, she could not find her wallet. We searched everywhere but could not find it. We went back to Swensens but was told that no wallet was found. They wanted to make a police report but decided to do it later.
Oh well, we went back soon after and the lot of them went to make a police report. I did not go with them. Just now, I was told that the police said there was no need to do that. Luckily, there was no IC in the wallet.
My friend will be returning to Indonesia soon. We make plans to meet again next time and go to the movies.
Looking forward to that day. Which reminds me, I miss my secondary 4 class so much...
Those were the happy days...

1st week of lessons

Mon:
We only need to attend lectures and communication skills lessons for the 1st week. I met up with some friends before going to campus. There were so many students, seeing as the term had started. The lesson was quite boring and the room was cold. It lasted 2 hours in the afternoon.
Tues:
2 hours of lecture on Micro Economics. We had to take notes about it. It was a bit like social studies and geography mixed. Many people complained about it being boring.
Wed:
1 hour of computer system and applications. Wasted my money by going to and fro just for that 1 hour of lecture. It was alright. Textbooks were expensive.
Thurs:
Another 2 hours of Comm skills in the morning. The teacher just go on and on about writing styles and all that. My classmates were passing notes around saying that he was so boring.
Fri:
After Accounting lecture, there was a 3 hours break. We, as a whole class, went to the IT school to eat lunch. After that, we went SAFRA to play pool. Only 4 girls are playing, including me. I'm not good in it, haha. No strength at all. Speaking of strength, I wanted to join bowling as CCA but they are conducting trials. The point is, I'm really bad in it. I'm sure I will not be accepted...Sighs.
I just want to have fun in a CCA without having to take part in tournaments.
It's Principles of Management next. Everybody were complaining by now, some wanted to skip it.
There's still a long~ way to go...

Business school orientation

Ok, the home computer was finally spoilt... And since my father do not want to send it for repair, I can't go online... I'm using my father's laptop to do this.
I shall only briefly talked about the business school orientation on the 17th and 18th.
All business school freshmen assembled at the convention centre for briefing. Business studies grouping (BSG) has the most number of people in it. Furthermore, business school has the largest quantity of students. We were seated according to our classes. There were 25 students in my class.
People in the BSG were liked 'stoned". They don't reply to cheers or anything. There were some some exceptions though. After that, we learnt more about our classmates and had lunch. We then proceeded to the very warm sports complex to learn mass dance, hand-sign song and school song. Since I already knew the steps quite well during the freshmen orientation, I led my 'dance partner'.
2nd day:
We needed to be early today. We were meeting our care person who is like our form teacher. He seems like a boring person.
In the afternoon, there's the Olympia and regetta to look forward to. To prevent us from running away, our matric cards were collected. Both events were competed between schools. Business school has been winning for 3 years straight. As the SLs were telling us, we must win the 4th time.
Business school has so many people, we must all squeeze into that small area provided for us in the stadium. It was hot. Some people ran away. The Olympia was quite good, even if we didn't win 1st for some events, there were 2nds and 3rds. We cheered so loudly.
After that, we went to Bedok reservoir for the dragon boats races. Business school won quite a few rounds. Business school won the overall championship, for the 4th time.

FOW 2008 at TP

7th April
Woke up at 6am and left home at 7. The trip was smooth, no traffic jam. In the end, reached Temasek Poly in record time, 8am. The orientation don't start till 9. So, I just sat near the sports complex, feeling very out of place.
The GLs were "high", for a lack of better word. I found out that there as only 2 representatives from my secondary school... The other person was a friend during the lower secondary days. But, we were put into different empires. There were 5 empires, Accion, Fyrtho, Komez, Phantos and Venos. Komez was my empire. The number of freshmen joining this orientation was large, about 600. Anyway, we played ice-breakers, learnt cheers and be acquainted with each other. I can't remembered much.
After lunch, which was alright, we went out, in our sub-empires, of campus to play games. The game was to let us be more familiarised with the neighbourhood. I don't think that helped much, seeing as we were just rushing here and there to complete the game. We were released at 7 without dinner. I was so tired, sweaty, and hungry.
The sports hall was HOT, to put it bluntly. The fans prove to be of no use, at all.

8th April
My father was going to Changi so he can drive me there. The number of people who came today was almost half of yesterday. I went because we were going to learn the school song, hand-sign song and mass dance. The hand sign part was difficult. I can't remember any moves.
I like the mass dance, in which we have to partner with the opposite sex and dance. The school song was fun too.
Since it was raining, which was great, we can't go out to play the games. Instead, we played the modified version inside campus. There was performance night that night. It was OK, I supposed.
After dinner, we were dismissed.
I did not go on the 3rd day because I had enough. Besides there will be water games and I dislike those.
This is basically the orientation organised by the student union.

End of holidays

Well, almost the end of my holidays.
Next week, I've freshmen orientation programme, maybe...
Till now, I've not receive any news or information about this orientation, no timing, no meeting place. If I did not receive news from them, I'm not going on Monday. So inefficient...
Anyway, I've been reading some good novels lately. Little black dress books are highly recommended. So far, I've read Memoirs are made of this & My three husbands by Swan Adamson, Guys and dogs by Elaine Fox, Step on it, Cupid by Lorelei Mathias, The good, the bad and the ugly men I've dated by Shane Bolks. They are, of course, romance novels.
Shall end here then,
Will update after the orientation...

Something different 3

Yesterday was the last day of the Microsoft excel lessons. We learnt some more new stuff and did more mock exam questions. The office ladies were all saying that taking the exam was stressful. I thought so too. I was afraid I would fail and not get the certificate.
There was a total of 18 questions and it was 50 minutes long. Once you submit the question, there is no going back. Each time you restart a question, some marks will be taken off. Each person had a different set of questions although some may be the same.
I started off well, asked the instructor to assist me a few times and asked my partner too. There was a question which me and my partner both skipped. But we were supposed to do it last.
After a while, the results came. I got a total of 929/1000! Haha, I was shocked. I didn't know if I was the highest. My partner scored 800+ as she restarted 2 questions. Some people failed and so will not get the cert from Microsoft. Oh well.
I shall end here then.

Something different 2

2nd day of the excel lessons.
Learnt more new stuff but at the same time, it was boring too. Towards the end of the lesson, I almost fell asleep, just the good old days in school.
What I wanted to rant about was the trip there and back. The MRT was filled with people, which is predictable as it was a working day. I really hate squeezing with them...The trip there was still passable. But the trip home, was bad, by my standards. I rushed and walked as fast as I could to catch the MRT. Yet the MRT from Jurong East back to Yishun as travelling so slow...Precious time were wasted just because of its slowness...Then came the worst part, the bus home. I didn't even ant to talk about it...All these public transport are inefficient...All that rushing was for my TV programme.
That's why I'm going to buy a car so long as I've the money. My dream car would be a BMW or at least an Audi.
All these lead to one thing that is important. My future school: termasek poly. God knows why I chose that school...I think I'm having 2nd thoughts now? But, nothing can be change. Everything is set and ready to go. Everyone was going on and on about why I chose such a far away school. I didn't know the reason myself... All that travelling...I shuddered at that thought. I can't stand it with so many people around...
Oh well, what to do?
Tomorrow is the exam for excel...I'm really tired and everywhere hurts...

Something different

Finally, something productive in my life after how many months of lazing around.
I went for Microsoft Excel 2003 lessons today at New Horizon Computer Learning Centre at Tiong Bahru. It started at 8.30 am and ended 5.30 pm. Naturally, I was the youngest among the 18 students. All are working adults...
There were so many things to learn. There were so many ways to do just 1 thing. It was pretty confusing to me as I don't use excel at home at all. There were times when I zoned out partially. I was really tired and felt liked sleeping.
Hmm, now I'm worried whether I will pass my exam. The instructor teached us 1 thing, and when she teached another, I forget the 1st one... My brain must have been rusty...I MUST pass this stupid exam in order to get the Microsoft certificate...
And I've been thinking, my English seemed to be getting rusty too...All those tenses errors I must have been typing...

Ramblings

It's been too long...
I'm having guilt-trip now...I was asked to do a favour by my brother. He wanted me to help him take out his items from his store in maplestory but I sort of forgot about it. Now, his items were stored in a bank and he can't get them out without his 13-word verification.
The only things he remembered about his account are his login ID, password and pin number... So basically, he has no way of getting what he wants because he doesn't even remember his e-mail!
So, back to the start, I'm being blamed for everything and the worst being, I thought so too! I'm an easily guilt-stricken person. As long as something that I'm involved in went wrong, I will blamed myself and be blamed by others. I will do my best to make it right. 'Sigh", this is life, isn't it?
That's what I'm doing now. Finding all means to make things right, for my brother. I think I will even go down to the customer service centre...I may even part with my money...
Why does this happens to me?? After this whole fiasco is over, I swear to myself I would not offer my help anymore. It's just too tedious for me, and me alone. Why must I be the one who did everything? Why must I be the one who is guilty when something went wrong? I'm tired already.
Great, just great...
Another note, maplstory is driving me crazy. Why must my life revolves around maplestory? I don't know myself. These days, whenever I play maplestory, the computer will auto restart. It was so irritating. I can't even properly trained my character. This is my last month of holiday. Why can't it go smoothly for me? I give up...
This whole post is dedicated to my non-existing life and maplestory.
Sure, I'm wrong, but isn't my brother? He doesn't even remember anything about his account. Am I the one responsible for it? Why must I be blamed for everything? Gahh...enough ramblings...
Till next time...Hopefully everything will be better soon...

Posting results

Received sms from MOE this morning, 6.16am to be exact. I got into my 1st choice, Temasek Poly, Business/Logistics and Operation Managment/Marketing.
It's alright, I supposed. I'm not overjoyed or anything. My father had jokingly asked me if I want to appeal to other polys. Nah, I'm not doing that. I'm the one who made the decision to go there, so I'll follow through.
I'm going to give myself a chance to try out something new. So, now, it's waiting for Temasek Poly to send all the details to me via mail...Hope to enjoy the rest of my remaining holidays...
New place, new people, new opportunities

CNY 2008

It's been a while since I update this blog...

15th Feb:
Met up with some girl-friends before going to ex form-teacher, Mr Tan's house. We were the 1st to arrive. Mr Tan showed us his wedding and younger days photos. It was quite windy there. He also has a dog, very active and playful.
At around 7, another group arrived. It was getting crowded in the living room. Around 8pm, 20 or more classmates gathered there and pizzas soon arrived. Mr Tan's father also cooked finger food and spaghetti for us. Mr Tan then took out a bottle of either fruit wine or some sort of spirit. He past around some flutes around we shared the drink. I took a sip or two. It left a bitter aftertaste.
All too soon, I was going home...I had a great time there.

16th Feb:
Went Long John Silver to have lunch with 2 friends. After that, the 4 of us, 2 guys and 2 girls went to watch Jumper. The movie was cool, although quite short. We went and walk around before I went home. The 3 of them then went to AMK hub.
As I was saying, this is only the second time I went out to watch movie with friends. Besides, it was only during sec 4 that I started going out with friends.

Upon receiving the results

Met up with some girl-friends to have lunch together. Everyone was liked so nervous, including me, of course. I was starting to feel the heat by then.
We reached school with time to spare and so decided to take a tour around. It felt great to be back. After a while, we saw our biology teacher. He then started saying that our biology results were not that good. There was only 1 distinction...That was when we started panicking. I kept perspiring, my hands were sweaty...
It was time to assemble in the hall. The new principal and vice principal talked for a while, before giving the teachers the cue to hand out the results slips. It was really warm in the hall. Our English teacher came by and told some of us our English grade. I got a B3 for it! Yay!
At long last, it was my turn...
My hands were shaking so much before getting the results. When I saw the slip, let's just say my mind blank out. It was until my teacher helped me count my L1R4 that I saw the grades. I got an A1 for Combined Science! It was a miracle as the Chemistry paper was tough. Then came an A2 for Chinese! Glad that I retake the paper!
I got 4 B3: English, Combined Humanities, Maths and Biology. Combined Humanities was a little disappointing. I expected an A for it. The same goes to Maths and Biology. But the Biology paper was really difficult. I passed my A maths!! As my tuition teacher put it, Finally! I got a C5 for it!
Hooray! I'm really really happy!
So, my L1R4 or 5 subjects is 12 points. L1R5 or 6 subjects is 15.
Of course, there were people who did not do that well...
I almost cried when I called my parents. I messaged my tuition teacher too. Some friends and I wanted to go out to celebrate. In the end, we ate ice-cream at Swensens's.
This year, there were 2 students who got 7 As. Our school seemed to be the only school that allow us to return in home clothes. It was great not to wear school uniforms seeing as we were already ex-students.
Now to choose my the course I wanted...
Till next time~
Thank you

Before O lvls result

The time has come. Today, at 2pm, we will be getting our O levels results. The wait is finally over.
I hope to post my good news online...My aim for my L1R4 is between 10-14 points, and to pass my A maths. That's all.
I'm really nervous now...

Back to school...not

It's back to school for most students. Another year has started...
But I won't be joining them. It's great, of course. The feeling is indescribable. Almost 10 years of studies, just for this long period of break. I guessed it's sort of worth it.
It seemed a long time since I wore a uniform and school shoes. I think I would have forgot my school work for now.
There is so much to say but it's hard to put them into words.
Guess I'll just leave it here...
Work hard everyone
