Stephenie Meyer's greatest creation

--The most anticipated novel since Harry Potter--
I just found out that Twilight the movie would start in Singapore on Christmas Day! 25th December 2008 is indeed a special day. I don't know if it had been confirm but at least the release date is not too far from that in USA (12th Dec). How fortunate that my friend will be in US by that time...
I will certainly catch the movie, be it good or bad.
Breaking Dawn is scheduled to release in 2nd August! Though, I'm not too sure if that will be the case in Singapore. I hope that on 2nd August which, thank goodness, is a Saturday, I will get the novel. I must get it, I'll go down to Borders at Orchard Road just for it.
I wanted to pre-order it just in case it runs out of stock...You never know...
Well, this year is not so bad after all, what with all my favourite things happening around me. By August, my life will be great.

Pictures of vacation @ Genting 2008

Room with a view

Taken from the balcony

Presenting: Our new houses with our cars.

Vacation at Genting 2008

Packed up and left home around the afternoon. Met relatives at the petrol station near Tuas area.
The 11 of us travelled to Malaysia in 2 cars. Since it was a Tuesday, there was not many cars at Tuas. It was a smooth journey. We would be staying at Genting View Resort which is located at the bottom of Genting. It was nearly 3 hours before reaching there. On the way, we had a late lunch at KFC at a R&R.
When we 1st saw the place, I was thinking "Oh my God..." My cousins were all having the same thought. The apartment block we saw was liked a set from a horror movie. It was so run-down that it gave us the creeps.
But, luckily, we were not staying there. We stayed at RiverView Apartment which was a series of terrace houses or bungalows, whichever you want to call it. It was big, well, too big for our taste.
My family of 5 and my auntie stayed in one, while the rest of them stayed in another. There were 3 bedrooms in each bungalow. But, my brothers squeezed into the massive master-bedroom with my parents and I shared a room with my auntie.
Next door, only the master bedroom was occupied. After we put our luggage down, we left for the mountain top. We missed the cable car station so we drove all the way up. We had noodles for dinner and walked around a bit. It got me thinking, I don't want Singapore IR at Sentosa to become like this.
Funny enough, not many Singaporeans can be seen. Maybe it's near the end of holiday. The adults went for some Chinese herbal jelly while the young ones went for ice-cream at Baskin Robbins. I had a green apple sorbet with mint ice-cream. Quite nice, minty and sourly.
The next day, we left in the morning for Genting. We ate roti prata for breakfast. As we thought that the prata will be small in size, we ordered more than 10 pieces. But the prata was huge, at least twice the size like that in Singapore's. Hence, we did not finished all. After that, the "children" went to the outdoor amusement park while the adults and I went shopping. I bought 2 tops from Padini Concept Store. After a while, the "children" returned due to the rain. When the rain stopped, they went out again. We then went for a 1 hour foot massage. Before long, they returned once more. We had afternoon tea at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaves. I had a Swedish Berries ice tea and a slice of chocolate fudge cake. We walked around and had clay pot rice for dinner.
We bought cup noodles back to the resort to settle our breakfast the next day.
After breakfast, we packed up and left. We stopped by the cable car station and bought many tidbits home. We dined at KFC at the same R&R again.

Summary of 1st week of holiday

For the past week, I've been really busy, busy to go out and have fun.
On Monday, my sec 4 class organised a BBQ at Pasir Ris Park. And, my friend, Sharon, came back from Indonesia to attend.
On Tuesday, my family went out to watch Kung Fu Panda. It was really funny and all.
On Wednesday, the cousins and I, together with my auntie went to Sentosa. There were lots of new things to try out there. In the evening, we went to Earle's Swensens at VivoCity to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Unfortunately, we went to Fort Siloso and I ended up not sleeping and crying that night...
Thursday and Friday were for doing homework. Bah, I hated the excel project we have to do. Luckily, I had a "secret weapon". Truth be told, I did not really use it, most of the work are original.
On Saturday, me, Sharon, Yiling and WeiJie watched Prince Caspian. It was quite nice although not as good as the 1st. After that, WeiJie left and we had dinner. After that, we went to shop around.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems that for the past 3 Sundays, the family have been dining out at restaurants. We went to at VivoCity to celebrate a belated Mother's Day. Then to at Esplanade to commemorate the dumpling festival. Yesterday, we went to Fisherman's Wharf restaurant to celebrate Father's Day.
Bosses is great, the ambience is not what you expected when you 1st step inside.

4s3 BBQ

Monday's BBQ was fun.
We met together 1st before taking the bus 39 to Pasir Ris Interchange. There were lots of things to carry. We then took another bus to Paris Ris park which is located near Escape Theme Park. But I think we took the wrong bus, so we had to walk all the way there. That was about 5-6+.
The guys were soon playing cards. Another group arrived and the fire was started.
I don't know much about the tactics of bbqing but the food was not cooked or half-cooked. And, that was only the crab-sticks, hot dogs, fish balls, prawn balls, sotong balls and mushrooms. We had to wait for a long time before the food was properly cooked.
Me and my friend went to find a friend, Sharon, who just came back from Indonesia. She came on her own and didn't know the way to the pit. After that, we joined in the bbqing. They started bbqing the chicken wings.
At 9+, our former form teacher came.
At 10.30, we bid goodbye to everyone and took the bus home.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was great to see everyone again, although some people didn't came. I had a good time chatting with my secondary 4 friends and this was the last time I will see Sharon before she left for USA. She's a really close friend for 4 years. She says she will still come back but that will be a long time. Well, hope to meet up before she leave. My secondary 4 life is still the best, after all. Nothing can compare to that, certainly not my poly class.
Seems that not everyone is happy with their lives in poly and jc...

End of Mid-sem tests

Ok, mid-semester tests are over.
MicroEcons is alright, I can draw the graphs and answer the questions. It all depends on how I answered the questions and whether I missed out any important points.
POM was a disaster before the test. I was really stressed out as it was all about memorising. I fretted before the test. Nothing seemed to go in at all. But during the test, it was ok, to my surprise. The questions were manageable though I forgot some things. I can t least get a B+, I hope.
Monday, we, 4s3 of 2007 are going to have a bbq gathering. I hope my friend from indonesia can come back for it...Really looking forward to it.

Countdown & Mid-sem test

2 more months to the most anticipating book this year, Stephenie Meyer's Breaking Dawn! I can't wait! When the day comes, I will be rushing to Borders to get it. I saw the preface and the cover and I had a feeling that this is going to be an intense novel. twilightlexiconblog.com has been great in providing any kind of details concerning the upcoming Twilight movie and the 4th novel. Really hope that Twilight will be screened in Singapore...
Today, I had my Business Accounting test. It was...well...ok? I didn't really know how to do the balance sheet. In the end, I just left the balance sheet hanging in the air. I also didn't get my capital and cash at bank info right at the posting. At the last moment, I changed my supposedly correct concept... Ahh...
I can't get any other questions wrong. If there is, I'll be a goner.
On Wednesday, there will be MicroEcons test.
Proud to be a twilighter.

Friday, May 30, 2008

I survived yet another week of endless, monotonous, lectures and tutorials. I'm glad that it is weekend again.
Next week, it will be our mid-semester test. I'm really stressed over that...

Updates

The problem for my "absence" was apparently solved. I don't know if it is true, but my teacher assured me it was done. Oh well...
Comm Skills test came and went, I think I did ok. I choose 'Internet is a wealth of knowledge. Discuss'. At first, I was shocked. I did so much research on environment and the questions that came out was not what I expected. Actually, I did not do much research in that aspect of the Internet. Much of my essay was original, written by yours truly. I heard something funny, (regarding the essay) on Thursday. It was a private joke so I'm not going to disclose it until the right time comes.
CSA excel test also past. I got 12/15. A bit disappointing as I was so careless and I had the certificate from Microsoft. I had high expectations for it.
Next week is Mid-sem tests. I must revising or I will be in trouble. And, something good is coming up, hopefully. Sec 4 BBQ gathering! Hope they find a day where the majority can make it...I really missed everyone...
Going to end here nowl

Bad things in poly

Here is a summarised version of all the bad things going on in my poly life.
Firstly, I didn't get into bowling. Apparently, they only 'accept the best'. Out of 50+ guys who went, only 6 got in. Only 2 girls out of 24 got in. Over 60 hopefuls, only 8 managed to achieve whatever standards the team wanted. I would say that the team is pretty pathetic. Over the last few days, freshmen voiced out their disappointment in the bowling blog with the bowlers countering their confrontations.
Secondly, I just found yesterday that I was marked as absent for my Comm Skills 1 class on 5th of May! Imagine how I feel when I saw that...What nonsense is that? I'm not that kind of person who will skip class, ever. God, I felt so injustice. There must be a miscommunication. Either the teacher called my name and I didn't hear it and thus didn't put up my hand or he skipped my name...
I had evidence that I was present in his class, if he doubted my words. I did the classwork in class and my friend was just sitting next to me. Besides, I had other lessons that day. So why should I skipped his class and went for the others? Hmmm, curious...
Anyway, I'm really feeling down and depressed these days and I don't know why. Life's just not great. I thought that would change when I went to poly, but, in fact it got worst. At least in secondary school......

Happy Bday to me!

9th May:
My mother bought a cake from Four Leaves. I've been wanting to try the chocolate classico for a long time but too bad, only coco exotic was available at that time. I will put up pictures of the cake later.
It was such a long time since I had a birthday cake. The whole cake was about chocolate, it was sinful, but oh so nice.
10th May:
My birthday!!
Woke up early in the morning to get ready for the bowling trial at Tampines Safra. I was very nervous as I'm not that good in bowling. I wanted to join bowling as a CCA but first, we must go for the trial and do well. Why can't they just let those interested be a member? Why must they only accept the good ones? With some training, I don't see why those people who are not that good will remain bad...
Anyway, there seemed to be a lot of people who wanted to join, especially guys. Some of which are "professionals", with their styles and custom-made balls. I was placed in a group with 3 guys. God, it was stressful to be the only bad one among them. They scored so many strikes while I had so many gutter balls.
Something embarrassing happened to me during the 5 minutes test-run. I can't find any 8kg and 9 kg balls, so I took a 10kg one. Before I can even roll it, the ball dropped.
After 4 rounds of continuous bowling, I can't take it any more. My left hand and 3 fingers ached. That's 80 'balls' altogether.
I got a 70+ in the 1st round, 30+ in the 2nd, 40+ in the 3rd and 40+ in the 4th. I ended up with a final score of 199 and was the 2nd last among the 24 girls.
We left home for Centrepoint towards the evening. We dined at Ichiban Boshi. I really wanted to try out the red wine raspberry sorbet but it is always unavailable. After that, we went shopping.
A big thank you to all my friends who wished me, many happy returns. It really light up my day.

Pictures from gathering @ Swensens

2nd week of school

Classes had been boring. Classmates were alright, in a way. I don't want to elaborate. Let's just say that them and my secondary school friends are different. Of course, they are all individuals and I can't possibly compare. But, they are everything my friends are not. Blah, Blah, Blah. Those who should know, knew it by now. The point is, I missed my friends! I missed my secondary school life! I missed my class and teachers! Those good old days where we still managed to have fun in spite of the looming "O" lvls. I deeply treasured those memories.
Updates on my poly life will end here, for now. When there are happier things to put here, I will update the blog. To put it bluntly, I'm not having a merry time.
Onto lighter topics, I've been continuing reading some more light-hearted and hilarious romance novels. The little black dress books are really worth the time. I highly recommend Meg Cabot's The boy next door. Nonetheless, the other novels are just as fun.
Books I've read so far: Bad Boys down under, The Cinderella Moment, First Love, Catch me if you can, The Bachelorette party, The boy next door, Simon says and the Love academy.
Enough of my crappy stuff.
My Birthday is coming! In 6 days! Yay to 17th!

Meeting up with friends

Today was super fun. I really had a great time today even though something bad happened.
Since my friend was back from Indonesia, we decided to have a gathering. We were going to Plaza Sing to eat before going shopping. We were so noisy in the MRT, there was just so much catching up to do. It's great to see each other again.
The 6 of us girls went 1st with 2 guys joining us later. After much deciding, we decided to eat at Swensens. We each ordered a main course and spilt up the cost for fries and ice-cream.
After eating, a lot of photo-taking and talking, we went to Wisma Atria to shop.
Unfortunately, when a friend wanted to pay for the clothes, she could not find her wallet. We searched everywhere but could not find it. We went back to Swensens but was told that no wallet was found. They wanted to make a police report but decided to do it later.
Oh well, we went back soon after and the lot of them went to make a police report. I did not go with them. Just now, I was told that the police said there was no need to do that. Luckily, there was no IC in the wallet.
My friend will be returning to Indonesia soon. We make plans to meet again next time and go to the movies.
Looking forward to that day. Which reminds me, I miss my secondary 4 class so much...
Those were the happy days...

1st week of lessons

Mon:
We only need to attend lectures and communication skills lessons for the 1st week. I met up with some friends before going to campus. There were so many students, seeing as the term had started. The lesson was quite boring and the room was cold. It lasted 2 hours in the afternoon.
Tues:
2 hours of lecture on Micro Economics. We had to take notes about it. It was a bit like social studies and geography mixed. Many people complained about it being boring.
Wed:
1 hour of computer system and applications. Wasted my money by going to and fro just for that 1 hour of lecture. It was alright. Textbooks were expensive.
Thurs:
Another 2 hours of Comm skills in the morning. The teacher just go on and on about writing styles and all that. My classmates were passing notes around saying that he was so boring.
Fri:
After Accounting lecture, there was a 3 hours break. We, as a whole class, went to the IT school to eat lunch. After that, we went SAFRA to play pool. Only 4 girls are playing, including me. I'm not good in it, haha. No strength at all. Speaking of strength, I wanted to join bowling as CCA but they are conducting trials. The point is, I'm really bad in it. I'm sure I will not be accepted...Sighs.
I just want to have fun in a CCA without having to take part in tournaments.
It's Principles of Management next. Everybody were complaining by now, some wanted to skip it.
There's still a long~ way to go...

Business school orientation

Ok, the home computer was finally spoilt... And since my father do not want to send it for repair, I can't go online... I'm using my father's laptop to do this.
I shall only briefly talked about the business school orientation on the 17th and 18th.
All business school freshmen assembled at the convention centre for briefing. Business studies grouping (BSG) has the most number of people in it. Furthermore, business school has the largest quantity of students. We were seated according to our classes. There were 25 students in my class.
People in the BSG were liked 'stoned". They don't reply to cheers or anything. There were some some exceptions though. After that, we learnt more about our classmates and had lunch. We then proceeded to the very warm sports complex to learn mass dance, hand-sign song and school song. Since I already knew the steps quite well during the freshmen orientation, I led my 'dance partner'.
2nd day:
We needed to be early today. We were meeting our care person who is like our form teacher. He seems like a boring person.
In the afternoon, there's the Olympia and regetta to look forward to. To prevent us from running away, our matric cards were collected. Both events were competed between schools. Business school has been winning for 3 years straight. As the SLs were telling us, we must win the 4th time.
Business school has so many people, we must all squeeze into that small area provided for us in the stadium. It was hot. Some people ran away. The Olympia was quite good, even if we didn't win 1st for some events, there were 2nds and 3rds. We cheered so loudly.
After that, we went to Bedok reservoir for the dragon boats races. Business school won quite a few rounds. Business school won the overall championship, for the 4th time.

FOW 2008 at TP

7th April
Woke up at 6am and left home at 7. The trip was smooth, no traffic jam. In the end, reached Temasek Poly in record time, 8am. The orientation don't start till 9. So, I just sat near the sports complex, feeling very out of place.
The GLs were "high", for a lack of better word. I found out that there as only 2 representatives from my secondary school... The other person was a friend during the lower secondary days. But, we were put into different empires. There were 5 empires, Accion, Fyrtho, Komez, Phantos and Venos. Komez was my empire. The number of freshmen joining this orientation was large, about 600. Anyway, we played ice-breakers, learnt cheers and be acquainted with each other. I can't remembered much.
After lunch, which was alright, we went out, in our sub-empires, of campus to play games. The game was to let us be more familiarised with the neighbourhood. I don't think that helped much, seeing as we were just rushing here and there to complete the game. We were released at 7 without dinner. I was so tired, sweaty, and hungry.
The sports hall was HOT, to put it bluntly. The fans prove to be of no use, at all.

8th April
My father was going to Changi so he can drive me there. The number of people who came today was almost half of yesterday. I went because we were going to learn the school song, hand-sign song and mass dance. The hand sign part was difficult. I can't remember any moves.
I like the mass dance, in which we have to partner with the opposite sex and dance. The school song was fun too.
Since it was raining, which was great, we can't go out to play the games. Instead, we played the modified version inside campus. There was performance night that night. It was OK, I supposed.
After dinner, we were dismissed.
I did not go on the 3rd day because I had enough. Besides there will be water games and I dislike those.
This is basically the orientation organised by the student union.
