Magic is Might

One of the highest grossing movie franchises in the world, literally Warner Brothers' money tree.
-
Harry Potter has ignited a spark in the hearts of millions of readers and a passion that was lost for quite a while.
-
Harry Potter accompanied many during their childhood years and beyond, still many in their adult years. "He" makes worldwide readers and fans unite through the creation of fansites, world premieres and midnight parties.
-
Harry Potter is J.K.Rowling's gift to us and we pay tribute to her.

The movies are a god-send. Imagination is powerful, but having the scenes play out right in front of you, now that is something magical. Movies convert even more people, some to readers, fans, others just for fun of it.

It has been eight years now since I become a reader and a fan and I never look back. I cannot imagine a life without books, Harry Potter being one of those.
To admit, I even imagine what would happen if Hogwarts and the magical world is real when I was young. It is all childish dreams but it don’t hurt to dream and make good use of the brain.

How I wish I can be part of the student body at Hogwarts, drinking pumpkin juice, hanging out with friends at Hogsmeade, sleeping on a four poster bed, going for Potions class, having a wand, sending owls home, etc. With magic, some things can be made so easy. Of course, I would still choose technology over magic.

Those who are not fans or readers will not know what is so appealing about this series. They scoff at the ridiculous antics fans did and laugh at the devotion and passion we show. But what they didn't know is that they will never experience such a phenomenon.
-
To give them credit, perhaps some of them do not need such things in their lives. Perhaps they have "better" things to do. Perhaps, they don't even like reading and treat the movies as just another movie to watch for the year.
-
On the other side, Johnny-comes-latelys will not experience the anticipation of each book release, the countdowns, the speculations, the wonderful times fans alike shared on fansites. I am not saying they don’t deserve a share of the pie but those feelings of the past cannot be felt now.
-
All 7 books are now sold as a collection, a far cry from the past, when we had to build up our collection slowly. I would love that but it takes the pleasure out of it. Fans who got on the ride with Harry Potter since the start grow up with the young actors/actresses and the trio. We journeyed with them through the ups and downs of life and the magical world.
-
I am glad and blessed that I am considered one of the pioneers.
-
Harry Potter was and still is magical.
-
Though the flame of Harry Potter dims; it will never truly go out because fans will find ways to keep the spirit alive. All else worldly aside, memories will never fade.
-
I hope that my passion for the books/films will live on for many years to come. And even then, when I am feeling dull, there will the books to keep me company and let me relive the good ole days.

Eclipse Posters

-Eclipse official poster-
-Fan-made posters-

Disclaimer: None of these posters belong to me.
-
Now, let's see. I figured I would do a "New Moon" and put up an entry on posters (fan-made and official) for Eclipse the movie.
-
The first on top of this list of Eclipse the movie posters is the official one used for the promotion.
-
I've been wanting to say this for quite some time, but never have the chance of doing so until now. It's quite plain, in my opinion. Other than the colour tones used, I don't really like the poster. It says nothing of the plot of the story and they looked too photoshopped.
-
The designers really need to step up on their work, as echoed by many other fans.
Showcase something dramatic, something pivotal in the plot. Asking the 3 main actors to pose like that did nothing to arouse any fancy.
-
If I am someone who is not a fan, I wouldn't even bat an eyelid when I see the poster.
-
The rest of the posters below are fan-made and they are my personal favourites after looking through the net for them.
-
Of course, people are more agreeable and forgiving where fan-made stuff are concerned. Firstly, they are made by fellow fans who love the series enough to do that. Secondly, for all we know, they are not professionals and did them during their free time.
-
Besides, these are the real good ones, even looking more professional than the official one. So, they still used photoshop, but at least these look more authentic and original.
-
I'm so excited for the movie! It's my favourite book of the series and judging from the early review I read, it looks to be really awesome! Both in the romance and action parts. Wow, I hope David Slade really delivers.

New Moon poster is out!

*Drums roll*
-
Make a guess which is the official New Moon movie poster...
-
The answer is the second from the top. That is the official New Moon movie poster released by Summit Entertainment. The other 5 are merely fan-made.
-
My opinion?
-
The official poster looks nice but I have no love for it. For one, it looks too photo-shopped to be any good. It's either that or the quantity and quality of make-up used. I do love the sepia tones for it though.
-
The 3 main characters stances are clear. However, they should positioned Robert Pattinson the other way, showing that he's leaving. I like the protective embrace of Taylor Lautner around Kristen Steward.
-
One main peeve is that Kristen Steward's face is not showing any emotion! She could at least be upset or embrace Taylor back. Some people argued that she's in the zombie-stage, therefore no emotions are shown.
-
My opinion can be based on other people's analysis of the poster and their reactions to it. So, in the event that most reactions are great, my review may changed according. I can be easily swayed by the comments people make.
-
Other than the official poster, I've put up 5 fan-made posters that deserves the recognition. It's hard to choose a favourite because I love every single one! Each of them can seriously be official instead. Their photo-shop skills are really great and the results are beautiful. The fans have to deal with limited photos to make something that convey the message of New Moon.
-
I have a soft spot for number 4 and 5.
-
However, many fans and I may be bias with the posters. Naturally, our expectations in the "real deal" is much higher than for fan-made posters. The company has the means and resources to do what they can and they come up with this? Whilst, the fans are not that professional and they can come up with something beautiful.
-
Unfortunately, I don't have the skills to do photo-shop. I'm not good at it so I had to make do with whatever is in my league. Therefore, I envy those who can come up with these. Sigh.
-
Disclaimer: All the above posters are not mine. They belong to their wonderful and talented owners.

PS: Kris is the American Idol! Oh yes! I was rooting for him.
