Grades for Semester 2.1

This may be a little late but I figured there's no better time to write an entry like the present.

My results have improved a little since last semester which makes me really happy. At least there's no Cs and what's more, I've a A-!

I can hardly believe that for that accursed module, American Power, I actually received an A-. I must have either done very well for the final examination or the cohort standard has decreased.

For my other 3 Geography modules, I received B+, B and B-, bringing my overall CAP to 3.58. It's a slight improvement from the previous 3.50.

For semester 2.1, I sought to work harder, put in more effort in my studies by cutting down time spent on Tumblr and fanfiction. I'm glad it works out.

Thus, as a New Year resolution, in this upcoming semester 2.2, I shall put in greater effort as well. I want to maintain my grades, at least achieving Bs for all modules. I want to start reading the readings and do revision early. Is it too much to ask for?

Anyway, in the last remaining days of my holiday, I shall relax and enjoy as much as I can. Then, when the term starts, it's time to get serious.

Grades for Semester 1.2

I don't have Cs. I've just got one (for now). And it is enough to last a lifetime. That's a bad example of using Sherlock's quotes, isn't it?

The results for Semester 2 came in today and while I've always been rather calm since the end of the examinations, I must admit that I'm disappointed at getting a C for Methods in Geography. Does that mean that my final exam is really that bad? Maybe I was pulled down by the B- I got for the project.

Regardless of what, I don't want to speculate too much or get too affected by it. Cest la vie. Sometimes, you can't always get what you wanted.

For Water and the Environment, I received a B. The 60% of projects really helped a lot. For Lifespan Development, it was a B-, slightly shocking because I thought I will do better. For Southeast Asia studies, I received a B+, quite expected, seeing as I was the most confident for that exam.

That concludes one year of studies in University. Seeing the results bought a relevation for me, I realise my standards are at the level-1000 modules. Perhaps as this is my first time ever taking level-2000 modules, I did not know what to expect or overestimated my limits. I will buck up when the year 2 comes along. There shall be no more slacking off unnecessarily.

Small Miracles

There's so much to update before the year comes to an end. Hopefully, my muse will allow me to write in this last few days.

I'd received my grades for Semester 1 and I must say, thank god for small miracles! For Social Work, I got an A-, the best grade I've received so far. The others are just B-, B and B+. It's alright though, because there's nothing wrong with being average, particularly in these trying times.

I have come to realise that I should lower my expectations in this part of my academic life and it doesn't help that University isn't really my cup of tea. Oh well, like I said, I am fine as long as I do not fall below the B- mark. That is one big no-no for me.

A Galore

I've been thinking up a perfect title to match my results for Semester 3.1. I've been harbouring hopes of pulling off another miracle this time round.

I didn't manage to sign up for the SMS service for the results and had to wait until 12 plus before the results are updated online.

Guess what? It's A galore indeed. I'm so happy, actually. But somehow, my mood just don't pick up. I guess I'm really feeling blue. Alas, my otherwise perfect score is marred by a blemish that starts with the letter B.

Product Development & Innovation, oh, how I hate thee! I knew the subject was bad news from the start. I just knew it because I know we couldn't pull this off. I had my doubts from the beginning. There were so many aspects that I just don't feel good about.

Let's do a recap for the grades of each subject.

Event Management - Distinction. I can't contain my glee when I saw that I have a distinction for it! It's really a big surprise for me.

I thought I had some regrets regarding the exam and the group project but I'm so glad the teacher actually liked it. I guess he's not so bad afterall.

Special Interest Tourism - Distinction. My hope from the start, it's good that it didn't let me down. I have a good feeling for this subject despite some reservations from the start.

After the group project presentation, I knew that we clinched the deal because, pardon me, I think ours is the most well-done in the class.

Managerial Accounting 1 - A. Phew. I managed to score an A. I was lowering my expectations to a B+ days before the main examination because I was so worried.

Strategic Entrepreneurship - A. This is the subject that we worked so hard on and to please the weird lecturer. I'm happy that we managed to please him.

Product Development & Innovation - B. I should have see this coming. It's actually a little surprise that I scored this grade. Oh well, what is done is done. It's a freckle that can't be erased.

I don't know why the CGPA isn't updated yet. Don't tell me that I'm stuck at this CGPA. But it can't be, there should be changes.

I've one last shot at graduating with honours and I'll be damned if I don't get it. I will give semester 3.2 my best shot if only I have the higher powers on my side. Please do not let there be any class changes. Not at this critical moment.

Results for Sem 2.2

*Set off Fireworks*
-
*Punch fist in the air*
-
Edited at 2.10pm: CGPA of 3.76! Do you think I will have a shot at the Director's Honours List this time round?

OMG! I'm so, so happy right now!!

Nearly had a heart attack when the SMS came in just after 11am. This is what I've been waiting for for nearly a month. All those stress, all those emotions, I can't believe I'm saying this, but, it's all worth it when I lay my eyes on the grades.

2 distinctions! An all new record for me! Travel and Leisure and Managing SME deserve the honours. All the other subjects are As. As I said before, As really are addictive.

Club and Resort - A. Wow, I can't believe it! I thought the second test was pretty difficult. Guess they moderated it.

Communication Skills 2 - A. Not quite surprising. Perhaps only that I must have did well for my interview.
-
Travel & Leisure - Z. Another Wow. I thought that my test was kind of screwed as I left some blanks. The group project is a major plus factor.
-
Managing SME - Z. No surprise here. I wanted a distinction for this subject ever since Day 1. Good teacher equals good grade.
-
Franchising Business - A. Ahh well, I must be content. If not for that disastrous day, perhaps, just maybe, I can get a distinction? Glad that the teacher liked our work so much.
-
World Issues - A. Big surprise here! I thought World Issues is a pretty boring yet difficult subject. The contributing factor must be the group project.
-
All in all, to sum up this semester grades is "Big surprises. Expectations reached".

Thank you, thank you, in so many thousand languages! To all the lecturers, to my group members, to myself, of course, to those who supported me.

Now, I must wait for the GPA. *Rub hands in glee* It's going to be goooood.

Feeling Good

Or more specifically, good gut feel. I have this good feeling about my results for this semester. I slaved away just for this day of "glory".

Gahhh, I can't wait for tomorrow or Friday to roll in! There is a rumour going around saying that tomorrow will be the day where grades via SMS will be sent out. If that is so, then, my wait will be shorten by a day.

If not, on Friday, the website will predictably crash again due to the high influx of students logging in at the same time to check their results. It doesn't matter if I log in on the dot, because apparently, there will always be people faster than me. Furthermore, those staying nearer to school will have easier access than me who stayed so far away.

Anyway, I will be really pleased if I can get my aim of at least 4 As (with a Z), and 2 B+. I had a secret fixation of getting all As in one go. This is probably my only chance to do this. And I can get to show those who have a seed of doubt.

So very excited! This will be the perfect incentive for me to go shopping during my trip to Taiwan on Saturday. Yay or nay? All will be revealed either tomorrow or Friday.

I'm not going to go all complacent, obviously. I have strict goals in my mind. This is but a stepping stone. However, I think I more than earn it to celebrate. Anywho, I'm not going to think too much into it, although, truth be told, I have been thinking for at least a month now!

Finger crossed!

Just another day

Indefinite hiatus again.

Really, it boils down to 2 things when it comes to updating. One, whether I have inspiration to write something. Two, whether I'm feeling alright enough to pen down my thoughts.

This post is just an entry to bump things along and keep things going.

I've been feeling rather lethargic and moody lately, need I say? It's all those projects and tests and role-plays. It's really getting on my nerves.

Wooh~ Final project was handed up today. Must say I'm pleased generally. I have such high hopes for each and every one of them. As, here I come!

Communication Skills 2 is a killer. I understand the need for a test but, really, in the working world, do you seriously think we have to memorise each and every single format and ways to write a letter, minutes of meetings and all that? C'mon, this doesn't make sense whatsoever.

Don't even let me start on the interview role-play. It makes me so nervous just to think of it. But, what will come, will come. Just 15 minutes, and I'll be out. Grade be darn. I have no hopes for this aspect at all.

Although, I'm that type of person who rather take exams over projects, I must say I'm somehow glad that school term will end in 1 week time. Yay!

This term has been rather tough for me what with all that pressure and expectations.

Suddenly, I'm hit with this thought, I'll out of school in 1 year time. Oh goodness, time seems to have pass so quickly if I project it forward. I'll be lose in this strange, new world. Everything will be in a different perspective.

Am I ready? Not that I know of.

Of course, if I have the chance, I'll jump at any opportunity to go overseas to study. Be it soon or later. It's now or never, and I don't want to miss out on this experience.

And I have to start researching on my coveted graduation trip. I really don't want to miss out this perfect chance to go. Everything is just right, at least I think so.

When all is said and done, I'll be back. This time, with more happiness.

Of Morbid Tales

A morbid tale I'll rather forget.

Finally, I snapped. What prompted me to write this morbid entry is the general fact that things are getting worse.

3 more weeks of school and I can't stand it anymore! This is sick! This is inhumane!

Oh my, I'm really feeling depressed, down and blue. I don't know, this semester does seem worse than the previous.

This is probably cause by my own doing. I keep pushing myself to the edge. I want to get things done properly. It is not just about passing anymore, it is more of a life or death option for me. I want to ace these subjects!

I know I can't do it for all. But at least 3 subjects have to do be As, as I kept mentioning. As are addictive, like a drug. Once you get one, you had to have more and more.

I'm doing this all for myself and the future I want to have. Good grades will mean a higher chance at getting a good job with good pay and than I can get the good life I want. No matter what those naysayers say otherwise, ultimately, in this world, grades and education do mean a great deal.

Sometimes, I just can't help but to wish I could turn back time. Those years in the secondary school were the best, even with the exams and what not. At least, I was truly happy and carefree then.

Now, with all this self-inflicted pressure and pain, I am just surviving and trying to fight alone. I want to get this Poly life over and done with, of course, after making sure I grab as much as I can before I make a run for it.

Ahh, I have all these thoughts swirling in my mind, but I can't seem to put them into words. I think this is enough for the day...

I need to get myself a tub of ice-cream and comfort myself.

TGIF.

The Things You Do For ... Grades

I'm pleased.

If I keep this up, I'm on my way to reaching my goals, maybe even much more than I expected.

I got back my 2 mid-semester tests results, A for both. Which means 25% is secured. Furthermore, for Franchising Business, my individual report got an A too. 40% done.

For Communication Skills 2, I had 2 As as of now, still don't the percentage though.

Had an A for the 20% Club and Resort test 1 as well.

These As don't come easy. The amount of effort I put in, the stress levels I had for myself. Nobody but myself is giving me pressure.

Of course, I couldn't have done it without luck and something more.

My aim this time round is at least 3 As and the rest B+ without any Bs. With that, I can push my GPA to 3.7 and above. Would I may...

The race is on to make the rest of the tests and projects and presentations a fulfilling and rewarding one.

Grades for Sem 1.2

3 cheers to me!

Received my Semester 1.2 results today. Holy crow!

Shockingly, I got B+ for Marketing. Woah, what was that? I was still praying, "Not C".

B for OB and Accounting 2. What can I say? I deserved that grade, no more, no less. My accounting skills are atrocious, not to mention, I've been so careless. As for OB, there's nothing much to say.

A for Business Statistics and MacroEconomics. I'm happy and if I get anything less, I might just go and bang my head on the wall. Both are my "pet" subjects and I expect myself to do well in them.

Z for French! Now, that's something to cheer about! I'm really, really pleased with it. I know I'm going to get A, but a distinction, never. I dreamt about it but didn't have much confidence that I will get it.

My GPA for Semester 1.2 is 3.56. Oh well, a little far off from 3.7 in Semester 1.1. Overall, I'm happy and nearly screamed when I saw the grades. That's how glad I am.

PS: Taking French was the best thing that happened to me. I love the language and in return, give me a good grade.
