Updates: 23th-27th july

It's been a long time since I last update the blog. Well, it can't be help, there is extra lessons almost everyday. By the time I reached home, I was so tired... Furthermore, there were tests from Wednesday to Friday.
I got back my A maths test. I failed by 1 mark, but it's alright. So long the concept is there, it is ok. My social studies test was good, 15/18. Haha, 1st time I passed my ss test. However, this is an N level paper which is considered to be much easier.
On Tuesday, my class went to Bishan Home to do CIP. We were going there to do gardening. Wow, it was hard work digging up weeds and planting plants. A refreshing experience for me.
Nothing much is going on in my life, other than O levels is coming...There is still so much to do...
I hate practical tests for the sciences! I'm afraid to start the Bunsen burner...
Well wishes

Tribute to J.K Rowling

I had finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in less than 24 hours. To be exact, it was about 11 hours. I beat my last record when the half-blood prince came out. Of course, this is only the 1st round.
A job well done by J.K Rowling! It was absolutely fantastic! The loose ends were nicely tied up and each page was filled with surprises. The ending was beautiful.
I started reading Harry Potter when I was 11 years old. From then on, I was a Harry Potter fan. I had to admit, I didn't like the series at 1st, when it was 1st published.
It was a pity that the magic had came to an end, but it will always stay in our hearts. Afterall, a series can't go on forever. Well, we still have the movies to look forward to. I'd really want to see how the directors direct the 6th and 7th movies. There is so much to work on in the Deathly Hallows.
All was well...
Best Wishes

Rantings

It's appalling that someone manages to get Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows one day before its release date, and it is a reporter too.
I thought there is a rule that prevents bookstores from selling the book before its release date? Wasn't someone in US facing jail term because of leaking out spoilers to the public from the book? It's sad to note that newspaper in Singapore is doing the same thing which irks us all.
As soon as I saw the report this morning, I immediately shut the pages up. I can't do this. In a few hours time, I will be getting my own book. I want to be able to read the whole plot by myself. I'm sure every Harry Potter fan wants the same.
Those people who have the misfortune to read that report, I feel sorry for you.
For those who'll be flipping through the newspaper, beware of the report! Don't ever read it!

Anxiety

Ahh...it's driving me crazy...I doubt I would be able to sleep tonight...
How I wish I didn't order Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows from Popular bookstore...I made the wrong choice. I should have just wait a little longer. I pre-ordered the book during March, and I got a letter from the post office on April. The offer made by the post office is way better...I still remembered the Half-Blood Prince, I got the book at about 8am.
I 'm worried about my loss of receipt, I'm afraid the staff will give me trouble? I know I am paranoid, but I can't help feeling that way. However, I think everything will be fine, c'mon, I've already paid a deposit. If they are going to create trouble for me, they will get it from me.
One more thing, their service is bad. I e-mailed Popular at Northpoint last week, and guess what, I did not get a reply from them. What kind of service is that? Compare to the National Library Board, they are way below them. I e-mailed to the NLB and got a reply from them the next day. This is what I call good service...
What can I do? I made the wrong decision, so I must make it right...

Anxiety...

Love Harry Potter, the books

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released tomorrow! I'm so excited! Tomorrow will be a historical day, for me anyway. After 2 years, it is finally out!
I will be going to Popular bookstore to collect my book in the afternoon, I suppose. Need to wait for my father to bring me there. I'm afraid there will be some problems concerning my collecting of the book. My father lost the receipt for it. I think it will be alright, I'll bring my IC just in case. If they are going to prevent me from collecting my book, I'm going to complain... Afterall, I've already paid $10 deposit for it...
Once I collect my book, I will start to read, or should I say scan? In less than 24 hours, I would have finish the book, know all the important facts... First round of scanning is over, I'll start reading for details. This is how I work...haha
This is to prevent me from seeing spoilers online or anywhere else. I can't wait for the release of the book! J.K Rowling is one of the best authors around.

Updates: 9th-14th july

I'm so busy everyday. Most of the time, We need to stay back for extra lessons. On Monday, I had my O levels Chinese Oral exam. I think it went fairly well. I misread a few words from the passage and the conversation was bad? It had something to do with environment, just like I guess, but was a different kind. My mind couldn't process anything. I only managed to give 1 example... Anyway, it was over, and I don't think I will fail.
The rest of the days were normal, nothing much happen. There was quite a lot of homework. I had a Social Studies test on Thursday. I must not fail this time! At least give me a pass... I did not pass my ss tests all this while.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is finally here! I haven't watch it yet. It should be a good movie but I'm not as thrill about it as the seventh and last book. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is my precious book, I can't wait to get it!
Next week, it will finally be mine! Yeah

Napfa test 2007

Woohoo! Can't believe I passed my 2.4 km run. My timing was 17.48 minutes, 2 seconds more and I would have failed. Haha. Not bad at all. It's too good to be true! Thanks to my friend who ran with me. She got the same timing as I did.
We had to run 6 rounds around the stadium with the sun beating on us. It was so strong, as we ran in the afternoon. The tracks were so hot, that the heat passed through our shoes. It was like our soles were on fire.
After the run, we were all so sweaty. When we sat down, we could feel the heat rushing up. I was so thirsty... At least I got a E for it. We sat at the bench to cool down and started cheering our classmates.
My 5 stations were alright. I am going to retake standing broad-jump and sit and reach. I will try to get better grades. Anyway, I hope to get a silver for this year NAPFA test. However, if I get a bronze, it's alright too.
Yay!
Countdown to Harry Potter and the deathly hallows:

Monday is my "O" levels chinese oral examination. Wish me luck

Ahh..

I would rather go school than stay at home when my brothers are at home. They are always hogging the computer. Just because I am kind enough to give them the 1st priority doesn't mean they can take advantage.
I know I should fight for my rights but I do not want any conflicts. My mother don't like the computer. She thinks it is the reason for my brothers' tempers and not doing homework and all that. I say that is due to their ill-discipline. Why is it that I don't have such problems? It all goes down to discipline. And they say I was the pampered one...
My father threatened to shut down the computer when I complained too much. You see, I have no one to turn to. If I complained, the three of us will all get the same treatment, an hour of computer a day. If I don't, they are the ones that my father controls, not me. So, I would rather keep my problems to myself and try to get it over and done with. I endured till school starts, at least then, I have a little time for myself.
It is not that I dislike holidays. The June and December holidays are great. I really look forward to them. It is a good thing that my brothers are enrolled in child-care centre. That leaves me, alone at home. I like it. I don't mind staying at home, even without computer access, so long I have a good book, that is all that matters.
What I say is contrary. But sometimes the feelings changed...

20 more days! Yeah!
