Upon receiving the results

Met up with some girl-friends to have lunch together. Everyone was liked so nervous, including me, of course. I was starting to feel the heat by then.
We reached school with time to spare and so decided to take a tour around. It felt great to be back. After a while, we saw our biology teacher. He then started saying that our biology results were not that good. There was only 1 distinction...That was when we started panicking. I kept perspiring, my hands were sweaty...
It was time to assemble in the hall. The new principal and vice principal talked for a while, before giving the teachers the cue to hand out the results slips. It was really warm in the hall. Our English teacher came by and told some of us our English grade. I got a B3 for it! Yay!
At long last, it was my turn...
My hands were shaking so much before getting the results. When I saw the slip, let's just say my mind blank out. It was until my teacher helped me count my L1R4 that I saw the grades. I got an A1 for Combined Science! It was a miracle as the Chemistry paper was tough. Then came an A2 for Chinese! Glad that I retake the paper!
I got 4 B3: English, Combined Humanities, Maths and Biology. Combined Humanities was a little disappointing. I expected an A for it. The same goes to Maths and Biology. But the Biology paper was really difficult. I passed my A maths!! As my tuition teacher put it, Finally! I got a C5 for it!
Hooray! I'm really really happy!
So, my L1R4 or 5 subjects is 12 points. L1R5 or 6 subjects is 15.
Of course, there were people who did not do that well...
I almost cried when I called my parents. I messaged my tuition teacher too. Some friends and I wanted to go out to celebrate. In the end, we ate ice-cream at Swensens's.
This year, there were 2 students who got 7 As. Our school seemed to be the only school that allow us to return in home clothes. It was great not to wear school uniforms seeing as we were already ex-students.
Now to choose my the course I wanted...
Till next time~
Thank you

Before O lvls result

The time has come. Today, at 2pm, we will be getting our O levels results. The wait is finally over.
I hope to post my good news online...My aim for my L1R4 is between 10-14 points, and to pass my A maths. That's all.
I'm really nervous now...

Back to school...not

It's back to school for most students. Another year has started...
But I won't be joining them. It's great, of course. The feeling is indescribable. Almost 10 years of studies, just for this long period of break. I guessed it's sort of worth it.
It seemed a long time since I wore a uniform and school shoes. I think I would have forgot my school work for now.
There is so much to say but it's hard to put them into words.
Guess I'll just leave it here...
Work hard everyone

Countdown to 2008

Left home at 6+ to pick my brothers and cousins at my cousins' house. The car was packed full, of course. 7 people in a 5 seater car. Reached Raffles place to park the car and met up with my uncle, aunties and 1 more cousin. Went to have dinner at Sakae Sushi and were lucky to wait only a few minutes for a table for 11 people.
After a hearty meal, we went to catch National Treasure Book of Secrets at 9.40. It was quite a good movie. Towards the end of the movie, people started leaving. We too, left in order to have time to walk towards Marina Bay and catch the fireworks display. Both sides of the pathways were chock-full of all kinds of people. Teenagers, tourists, foreign workers, families like us all waiting for the moment to welcome 2008.
Luckily, we had a good spot, right in front of the fireworks, though we are on the other side. This year's fireworks display was magnificent! Pink, purple, blue, red, green lit up the night sky. Yellow flowers too. Gold sparks lingered in the air. Everyone cheered when the 1st firework was shot up into the sky. It was a good 8 minutes of display.
After that, chaos began. The pathways were sardine-packed. The worst thing was when some people started spraying those party ribbons and foam. I hated those stuff. Since there were fencing and barricades to prevent people from crossing the road, we had to detour.
But in the end many people including us, crossed the road anyway. The fencing were already pushed down by the sheer number of people. We climbed over the barricades in the middle of the road. Good thing I was not wearing a skirt. All in good time, we reached our cars and bade goodbye to each other. It was a fun day.
I hope that next time we can book a hotel room or two to catch the display as the view will be better and we will be more comfortable.
A great year aheads!
