Ahh..

I would rather go school than stay at home when my brothers are at home. They are always hogging the computer. Just because I am kind enough to give them the 1st priority doesn't mean they can take advantage.
I know I should fight for my rights but I do not want any conflicts. My mother don't like the computer. She thinks it is the reason for my brothers' tempers and not doing homework and all that. I say that is due to their ill-discipline. Why is it that I don't have such problems? It all goes down to discipline. And they say I was the pampered one...
My father threatened to shut down the computer when I complained too much. You see, I have no one to turn to. If I complained, the three of us will all get the same treatment, an hour of computer a day. If I don't, they are the ones that my father controls, not me. So, I would rather keep my problems to myself and try to get it over and done with. I endured till school starts, at least then, I have a little time for myself.
It is not that I dislike holidays. The June and December holidays are great. I really look forward to them. It is a good thing that my brothers are enrolled in child-care centre. That leaves me, alone at home. I like it. I don't mind staying at home, even without computer access, so long I have a good book, that is all that matters.
What I say is contrary. But sometimes the feelings changed...

Breather

Feels so good that Friday finally came. The first week of term 3 has finally ended. I think it is still all right. We only need to stay for 1 day for Maths extra lessons.
However, next week must be prepared to stay for at least 3 days. There is the Nafa test to look forward to. I'm going to "die" this time. We are going to the stadium to run our 2.4 km run, in the afternoon, when the weather is the hottest. I don't think I can make it... I am worry about my standing-broad jump and shuttle run, ad perhaps my sit-ups. After a few sit-ups, my stomach hurts.
8 more weeks to prelims...
On a good note, the school will be making arrangements for our Prom night in November. The class wanted it to be held on Friday and most of us don't mind paying $55 for it. We can't decide on the hotel though. I want it to be held in a 4-5 star hotel in Orchard Road. This is afterall our first Prom night and this marks the end of our secondary school life.

Significant Day

7-21-07 is a significant day. The last book, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows will be released at this date. Yay!

I've been waiting for this book since Half-Blood Prince. Now, at last, the book will be mine! Just have to wait for 4 more weeks...

I'm not happy that I bought the book from a bookstore. I should have bought it from the post office, at least they deliver it to my house... There surely will be long queues... I bought the children version but the adult version picture is nice. Anyway, my father said I can buy the adult version after the price have dropped. I can finally complete my collection of Harry Potter books.

Meanwhile, I entertain myself by reading The End of Harry Potter? by David Langford. It is a highly entertaining book. You should read it yourself. There are some parts which is really
hilarious.

Another event coming up is the release of the 5th movie, Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. I am not really into the movies. I find that they do not capture the scenes properly. My favourite so far are the first two movies. However, I've seen the trailer for The Order of the Phoenix, I think this should be a movie worth watching.

On the downside, school is starting. That is the day I dread. School starts on Monday, 25th of June. "O" levels MT oral exams is coming.

Nevertheless, I've my precious book to keep me company.

4 more weeks...

BBQ

I met up with my friends at Woodlands MRT station before taking a direct bus to Marine Parade. The journey was long, about 1 hour. When we reached there, we couldn't find the NTUC. After asking around, we finally found it. We bought drinks and had to carry 6-8 bottles of 1.5l drinks to our BBQ pit. The way was so long and tiring...
After putting our stuff at the pit, we went to rent bicycles and roller-blades. I haven't really mastered riding a bicycle yet. However, at last I can do it without wobbling too much. But I don't know how to park my bicycle and ended up banging into the wall.
When most people had arrived, the guys started barbecuing. Some of the chicken wings were not cooked properly. The guys really sweat it out. They stood there, cooking food for us.
Our form-teacher came. Other teachers couldn't make it which was disappointing. We took photos and played water bombs. Some of the girls went down to the sea to play. I think it is dangerous to do that as it was dark.
At about 9.30, me and 2 friends went to take a taxi to Cityhall MRT station. We had a hard time waiting for an available cab. We boarded the MRT and returned home. I reached home at 11+.
0verall, the BBQ was fun. Afterall, it was our last year.

Vacation at Malaysia

We gathered at my uncle's house before going to Malaysia. Since it was a Monday morning, it was a smooth journey to Tuas. The ride was long, we stopped at an R&R to have our lunch before continuing our ride. I slept along the way.
Finally, we reached Awana Resort, located half-way on Genting Highlands. The weather was nice and cool, about 27 c. 11 of us checked into a bungalow, there were only 2 bedrooms so my cousins slept on the floor.
We went up to Genting via cable car. As we neared the top, the temperature dropped and the sky was foggy. Suddenly, the cable car stopped. We were all stunned, nobody dared to move. Fortunately, the cable started moving again. This is due to the windy conditions.
We went out to have a taste of the chilly wind and fog. It was so fun. I can't wait to go to Canada at the end of the year. The weather will be even colder than this...When we took the cable car down, we plunged into darkness.
On the second day, my father, aunties and uncle went golfing. That left the "children" and my mother. After breakfast, we had a good time soaking our legs in the private jacuzzi. Since the jacuzzi was only meant for 2 people, the 6 of us soaked our legs instead. My mother even boiled 3 pots of water for us. We ate chips and put soap to create the "bubble effect".
When the golfers came back, we hurried to take the cable car up to Genting again. The weather was even foggier than the 1st day. We can't see the vegetation below or the cable. It was really cold. Fog was swirling around. We went to Sushi King to have our lunch. I had fun shopping around. I bought pants and a belt from Padini Authentics. My cousins and brothers went to the arcade while the rest of us had a foot massage.
Then we saw that is was raining heavily outside. Rain plus mist came in through the ventilations. I loved the effect. After that, we had our dinner. The claypot rice was so good...
When we wanted to take the cable car down, we were told that the cable car was not available due to the winds.
We had to take a bus down. Since there was still time, we hang around the hotel. We took a few photos at the lobby where they showed the temperature and humidity. It was 20.2 c.
On the third day, after breakfast, we got ready to check out. My cousins wanted to go up to Genting for the last time but there were not enough tickets. However, as we walked towards our resort, some guy gave us tickets. My cousins all laughed and said it was heaven's will. We decided to go up and eat lunch before coming down.
When we reached Singapore, it was in the evening. It felt so good to be home...

Updates

Tomorrow, I will going to Malaysia for holiday with my family and relatives. We will be going to Genting. We will be back on Wednesday.
On Thursday, my class is having BBQ at East Coast. Really looking forward to it. This is the first time a BBQ is held by my classmates. It begins in the late afternoon. Teachers will be there too.
Anyway, I wanted to enjoy my last week of holiday. Hope nothing will spoil it.

Hmm...

Why is A maths so difficult? Of course, it is not call Additional Maths for no reason...
I have to complete 2 A maths past year O level papers. I can't stand it. It's a torturous process.
As I say before, I am not cut out to do maths or anything that have to do with calculations. Most of my chemical calculations are wrong and my physics is not that good, simply because it involves formulas and complex calculations...
My A maths especially suffered. No matter how much I do or try to understand, it is always a disaster.
Anyway, I am left with 1 more A maths paper and geography. By tomorrow I should complete them. I am still left with 1 week of school holiday and then it will be continuation of the nightmarish days of studies.
O levels is approaching...slowly yet steadily.
Ahh...

Updates: 4-6-07

I went to watch Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End on 31st of May with my mother and brothers. It was a public holiday. Actually, we should be going to the airport that day, but my father had a change of plans at the last minute. He was going to stay for another day at Korea.
The movie was really good, although the plot was a little "messy". There were too many characters. Anyway, don't want to say much about it. Experience it yourself.
3 more days of holiday lessons. I don't really mind them as we don't have to wear uniforms or school shoes. Some people wear sports shoes and PE shorts to school. We have a variety of T-shirts to choose from, there is the old and new PE shirts, class T-shirt, CCA T-shirt and camp T-shirt.
Well wishes

Post O-levels

O level Chinese came and went. I am glad to say that both papers were ok. I have confidence in myself. I must get at least an A2 for Chinese.
However, last evening, I slipped and fell down in the bathroom. I hit my right side of my face and my leg was injured. There is a nasty bruise on my face right now. I can't even walk properly. I have to practically limped around. The problem is that I still have to go to school for holiday lessons.
My father share the same sentiments as I do. I am on a "bad-luck streak". The good news is that the fall helped to counter my exam. I don't mind falling a few times more if I can secure As for my exams. Haha

Ill

Great, I am ill. On Thursday, I suffered from runny, block nose. This caused my eyes to keep tearing. Now, I have a mild fever.
I have been waiting for this day to arrive, I really need a break. However, this is wrong timing to fall ill. I am taking my O level Chinese on Monday. I don't mind falling sick after the exam.
Must get better by Monday...

Pre-Chinese O level

1 day till Chinese O level. I am really nervous about it.
Luck plays an important role in the exam. Most of the topics for compo are alright. Just don't give me those questions that I don't understand, and it will be fine.
The letter-writing should be ok. As for paper 2, if I understand the passages, I should be able to answer the questions correctly. I won't scored well in my compre, especially in the " write your thoughts" section. There are many words that I don't know how to write.
I really wished that I can get an A for my Chinese. After this, there will be no more Chinese lessons.
Must say my prayers...
Best wishes

Results...

The results are crap. I failed both my maths. A maths I can understand, but E maths...
How could I fail E maths? With this kind of results, how can I applied for a Poly? A maths is F9 as usual. Most of my classmates got a F9.
The other subjects are ok, not good. An A2 for Chinese and a B3 for Biology. The others are Bs and C. This is not unpredictable.
Just the thought of it makes me wan to cry...
Anyway, as we like to say, this is only Mid-year exam, what is important is O levels.

Last day...Yeah

So, Mid-year exam is finally over! The Biology MCQ was easy. I hoped I can get at least 35/40. I need all the marks I can to do well for my Biology.
4 days of holiday await us. On Wednesday, we will be having career seminar.
*Until next time*

Sweet Sixteen

Today is my birthday!
However, I did not have luck today. The chemistry paper was difficult. I forgot many notes, maybe I will flunk this paper.
Anyway, 1 more paper to go. Biology paper 1 tomorrow.

Eve of my birthday

Only 2 more papers to go. The physics paper today was a little difficult. I forgot some of the formulas.
On Tuesday, both the E maths paper 2 and Combined Science MCQ were quite alright. I was able to do most of the questions for E maths.
Tomorrow, 10th of May will be my birthday! I will be 16. My father is out of town, so I will only celebrate my birthday on Saturday. Since it is my birthday and I am taking chemistry paper tomorrow, that means I will have extra luck, I hope.
Till next time...

Sob...MYE---4th day

I was wronged... I lost whatever confidence I had...
The A maths paper was a killer. The moment I looked at the first question, I knew it was the end. Oh my God. Those questions were not like the ones I study. I skipped at least 2 whole questions, a binomial and a trigo question. I don't think I can pass. I am going to flunk this paper badly. ~>.<~
Maths is my weakest link. I am not cut out to do maths. I have a hard time understanding the concepts of maths. It will take me days, weeks or even months to understand the topic that was taught long ago.
On a better note, my social studies paper was quite OK. I remembered most of my notes and the SBQ was manageable.
Biology paper 2 and geography on Monday. Just like one of those days... Lots of memorising work.
5 more days to go...
6 days to my birthdaykk

MYE--3rd day

Today's E-maths paper 1 was disastrous. I under-estimated it due to the past 2 years papers. They were so much easier compared to this. It was a 2-hour paper and it had 15 pages. When 1 hour had passed, I was still in the 7th page. I was taking my own sweet time to do the first few pages. The questions behind were more difficult and I did not have enough time to finish the paper. This was the result of my downfall...
I was thinking that I had already lost at least 10 marks from those questions I left blank. And then there were those questions that I did wrongly...
I guessed I won't flunked the paper, but the result will not be good. Oh god, this was only paper 1, there was still paper 2...
A-maths and social studies papers tomorrow. 2 of my most hated subjects. Wonder how will I cope? I have a little confidence in my A-maths. The topics covered are mostly sec 4 work. I must at least pass my A-maths. As for my social studies, wait and see...
6 more torturous days of exams
7 days till my birthday

Mid-year exams

Today is the start of my Mid-Year Exams. It was English Paper 1 and 2 today.
I felt that the questions for compo were quite difficult, there wasn't much to write about. The question I chose was " Write about the important qualities about a good son or daughter ". However, the situational writing was quite alright.
Some of the comprehension questions were hard and I was afraid for my summary. I did not know if I had the correct points.
Anyway, it is over. Now I must concentrate on my other subjects. Chinese papers on Wednesday.
10 more days to my birthday!

14-4-07

It was the second day of our school concert Arts Panache 2, Club Soul at Victoria Theatre. It lasted for 1.30 hr. Most of the audience consisted of alumi and students. All were dressed up to date.
It was quite a good performance put up by students and teachers. Though I felt that some parts of the performance took up too much time.
I was really glad that I had the chance to watch this performance. Besides this was my last year. If there is going to be more concerts in the near future, I will go and support.
>>>>>
I have been really busy all these weeks, lots of tests and exams will be here soon. I hardly have the time to go online and read books. There is just too much work and too little time.

Aftermath of the workshop

My workshop ended on Wednesday but I do not have to time to update the blog.
I was so glad that it was finally over. The workshop was nightmarish. The guy was boosting how much money he had, and he was so arrogant. He thinks he is more superior than us because he is older and is a "multi-millionaire". He does not treat us as equal. He has a big ego, thinking that he was so great.
Throughout the workshop, he made sick, dirty jokes and uses vulgar words like 'F**k', 'bulls**t', 'idiots' etc. I don't think he is setting a good example here. Besides, he kept threatening us.
The worst had yet to come. On the second day, he was so insensitive. He asked us whose parents had died and kept poking his nose into it. It was almost liked he was gloating at it. He did not care about our feelings and I am sure he had offended a lot of students. He talked about his parents and a lot of other things concerning about our parents and made us cry. I don't even know what I was crying about. I am afterall an emotional person. Even the boys were teary-eyed. He can become a dictator if he wants to, he can control the emotions of the people so well.
I was so upset that I had thoughts about walking out. But I can't, I have a reputation to keep.

It will be different if this programme is not in school, then again, I would not have attend if I am given a choice. It was not only me who can't stand him, someone had complained to the teacher about him. Good job, he deserved it. I told my father all about him, and my father wanted to complain too. This workshop is not helpful at all, rather, I find it demoralising. I would not recommand this to anyone.

updates: 4-2-07

On monday, I have to go to a workshop known as " Super-teen workshop ". This workshop is about bringing out the best in us by building our self-confidence and self-esteem. It starts at 8am and ends at 9pm. I can't believe when I first heard it. It is so absurd... Even lectures don't last that long... Moreover, we have to eat our lunch and dinner in school. The canteen will not be open at night and we are not allow to go out and eat. Instead, we will have to pay for packed dinner at $2.
That means we will not be having any lessons from Monday to Wednesday. However, I would rather have lessons and A maths tests everyday than to go through this torture.
The teachers said that we are lucky to go to this workshop, where we can "relax" and "have fun". Sorry, but this is not the case. We would need to bring textbooks and writing materials to this workshop. To put it simply, we are going to have long day of lessons there.
I am being forced to go, for it is compulsory.Given a choice, I would not have sign up. I am going to bring my own food there, although I will still pay for the dinner. If it is not suitable for me, at least I have something to eat.
Best Wishes

Updates for 2007

It had been a long time since I posted anything in my blog. My computer was down at the beginning of the year and also because of the Taiwan earthquake that slowed down the connections.
This year is a crucial year for me. It is the "O" levels year, which everyone dreads. For 3 weeks, I did not have time to touch the computer. We have extra lessons everyday and lots of homework.
Not much things have been going on...

Trip to Malaysia

On the 16th of December, my family went to Malaysia to attend my father's Annual Dinner & Dance cum Family Outing. It was held at Sofitel Palm Resort. We reached there at about 5+ pm. After resting in our rooms for a while, it was time to go. There was approximately 300 guests attending. The were several activities going on when we were eating our dinner. It was a fun and light-hearted event.
There was one activity when we had to stand on the chairs and sing Ali Baba. There were also "bidding" and luck draw. In the "bidding" activity, people must used casino chips to "bid" for 'a trip to nowhere', 'washing machine' and 'Gucci shoes'. Actually, they were not for real. We all had a good laugh. We left at 11.30, but the event lasted till 12.30.
The next day was supposed to be check-out day. But we stayed until monday as my cousin's family will be joining us. At about 2+pm, my relatives arrived. Due to the consistent rain, they cannot played golf. We spent time inside the rooms watching TV and playing games.
I was to look after the "children", while the adults went to play golf. I took them to breakfast and went swimming. After the adults came back, it was time to leave. I had a relaxing time there.
However, I lost my watch there. I left my watch on top of the TV before going next door to my brother's room. When I returned to my room in the afternoon, it was gone. My father went to counter to check, but apparently, the maid did not find anything in the room. So, my watch got "stolen". It was not an expensive watch but it was given to me by my aunt.
6 days to Christmas~~Ho Ho Ho

Vacation at Guangzhou

It was cold in Guangzhou. There was a bus to take us to our hotel. Upon reaching the hotel, we were all delighted. At least this time we will be staying in a "real" hotel. But unfortunately, people were allowed to smoke inside the lobby. I was sharing the room with my cousin. The room was just like a typical hotel room.
After a while, we all went to Beijing Road. There were a lot of people everywhere. We walked for hours and our feet were tire out. It was 10+ pm when we went for feet massage. It was a great experience for us. This was my first time having a feet massage.
The second day, we walked around and went shopping. About 5pm, we visited "shang jiu lu and xia jiu lu". The air pollution level was very high as many people were smoking. The streets were filthy and filled with litter. I am so glad to be living in Singapore. That night, we had feet massage again.
We went to various attractions the next day. Our first stop was Wong Fei Hong Memorial Hall. There, we learnt about the history of Wong Fei Hong. Next, we visited Chimelong Xiangjiang Safari Park Guangzhou. The zoo was really big. Their newest attraction is the Koala House. We also saw panda and white lion. At night, we went to Cirque Du Chimelong to watch a circus. It was a good show with live animals like hippo, horses, monkeys and white tiger.
This was our last day in Guangzhou. We went to Dr Sun Yat-Sen's Memorial Hall and 2 other attractions. After that, it was time to go to the airport. We boarded SIA and went back to Singapore. I was not feeling good all the way.

Vacation at Hong Kong

I woke up at 5am on 30th of Nov. 29 of us including my uncle's liondance group members will be leaving for Hong Kong. Our plane took off at 8am so we had to reach the airport very early. I was happy that we were boarding SIA. I did not eat much for breakfast as I was already feeling queasy. It was a 3 1/2 flight.
When we reached there, my head was spinning, stomach was lurching and was nauseous. The weather was still fine there, not too cold. Our first stop was Ngong Ping Village. To reach there, we had to ride on a cable car for 1/2 hour. To make matter worse, there was no ventilation.
We then visited other attractions like Lan Kwai Fong. To our horror, we were staying in a hostel. It was passable inside, although the room was very small. You can't even change your clothes inside the toilet.
The next day, there was no bus to take us around. We had to ride on their MTR and public buses. The 29 of us were split into 2 groups. We took a bus to Stanley Market. Later, we went to Ocean Park. There were a lot people, we managed to play a few games. At evening, we rode on a cable car to get down. This was much better than the ride on the first day. I had an enjoyable time there. At night, we went to see a laser show at Victoria Harbour. The air was refreshing but it was tainted with cigarette smoke. One thing I can't stand is cigarette.
We left for Guangzhou the next day. We took a 2 hour train ride there.

Phobia of mine

Tomorrow, 30th of November, together with my family and relatives, I will be going to Hong Kong. I am really excited and hope that we will have a fun-filled time there.
But, yesterday I am already starting to feel giddy and nauseous. I always have this stupid phobia of travelling on an airplane. The same goes for travelling by sea. Everytime, I am going overseas, I have to take medicine. I hate this but have no control over it. I am suffering right now.
I am thinking that it will be worse tomorrow. Once the plane take off, I will be worse. This does not happen to me only, my brother is also affected.
Hope everything will be fine.
Happy Holidays!

Sick day...

I am ill right now, having fever and blocked nose. I am just recovering from a bout of flu 2 weeks ago. I'm so angry that I am ill. My parents wanted us to get the flu jab before our trip to Hong Kong. I insisted I don't need it, I can just improve my immune system by taking more vitamin C.
I must get well before my father comes home from Thailand on Friday. If not, he will ask me to get the flu jab. My body aches and whenever I sit down, I can't breathe properly.
Till next time...

end-of-year results

Today I got back my report book. Nothing surprising as I already knew my marks.
I am 6th in class, my average percentage is 61.1%. So long as you pass English, you will be promoted to sec 4. Here are my results:
English: 59--C5
Chinese: 64--B4
A maths: 39--F9
Maths: 65--B3
Combined sciences: 65--B3
Combined humanities: 70--A2
Except for my A maths, I am quite pleased with my results. My L1R4 is 16 while L1R5 is 20, which means I could go JC. Tomorrow is the last day of school. We can go home at 10 am. But, we still need to go for 2 weeks of extra lessons.

PSI level : Unhealthy

The haze is driving everybody crazy. All thanks to the forest fires in Indonesia. It's been going on for about 2 weeks now. The weather is so hazy, it makes my eyes watered when I look at the surroundings. This haze this year is the worst, the highest PSI level being 150.
We are breathing in smoke right now not air. Besides, the weather these days had not been good, many people are falling ill. Recently, there was an outbreak of the "stomach flu", hitting 2 schools in Singapore. I blamed it on the haze.
Sources say that the haze will be gone by end of the month.
I can't wait to breath air again....But till then, we all must endure the haze.....

Post exam activities

There was nothing much to do after exams. We stayed in the class for the whole day, some sleep, some read books while others played games. These few days were very boring.
On Tuesday, 15 students from my class did not come. This was the record so far. The same thing happened to the other classes. Yesterday, 19-10, we went to science centre. It was quite fun as we got to walk around and looked at the exhibitions. But still, 9 students did not come.
Today is Promotion Day, so I do not have to go to school. It means the teachers gather to see if you get promoted or advanced or retained to the next level.

The perfect day

Today was the best day of my life. I went out with my parents in the morning and came back in the evening. It was quite strange as today was a school day. I seemed to be the only teenager walking in Orchard.
My mother went to see her doctor and after lunch, we went to JewelFest 2006. It was so beautiful. I've been looking forward to this every year but this was my first time going there. Finally, New Moon was mine! I went to Borders and was not disappointed. I was so happy that I got the book.
Later, we went to Causeway Point. As my father had a $3500 voucher, we planned to buy furniture with it. But in the end, we ended buying diamond necklaces for me and my mother. It was not the design I wanted but it will do. I like necklaces with patterns, mine was simple.
I can't believe it, I have a diamond necklace...Hooray!
What a lovely day~~ It's everything I wanted!

End-of-year exams--final part

At last, the end-of-year exams had come to an end. Physics was quite all right, I think. I did know know how to do a few questions though. Biology paper 2 was a little difficult, we had been warned by our teacher. He said he "want to kill us" in this exam. I did not know how to do 2-3 questions.
So, tomorrow and Friday are "off-days". Tomorrow is art paper, but since I do not take art, there is no need to go to school. Friday is marking-day. I am disappointed to find that New Moon by Stephenie Meyer is not available in Singapore. I am looking forward to reading it after my exams. I have yet visit borders to check. This Friday, I think I will be going to borders to check if New Moon is available there.

End-of-year exams--part 3

Today's papers were Additional Maths paper1 and 2. Both papers were disasters. I would rather not talk about it. I did not have much time to update this blog and tomorrow is the last day of exams. Yay!
Biology paper 2 and Physics tomorrow.

I am upset that I can't get the book New Moon by Stephenie Meyer in Singapore. I thought that after the exams, I will be able to read it but none of the bookstores here have it. I am thinking about ordering it in amazon.com......

End-of-year exams--part 2

Geography paper today. It was quite difficult , the map-reading took up 1/3 of my time.
There was 1 question " What are the characteristics of Hi-tech farming in Singapore", I think I answered it wrongly. Also, I only studied 2 advantages and disadvantages for industrial concentration. However the question was worth 10 marks which means that I had to give 5 advantages and 5 disadvantages for it. I managed to write 3 each.
I am worried that I will not do well in this paper. I have high standard for geography.
Tomorrow's paper is Chemistry, a subject that I am not very good in.

End-of-year exams--part 1

Today was the 1st day of my main EOY exams. Today's papers were social studies and E-maths paper 1.
For the social studies paper, there was 1 question I was not too sure about the answer. It was about the IRA in Northern Ireland. But I still complete the paper in time. I have high standard for my social studies so I am worried that I might not do well. I must get at least 70% for my social studies paper.
I skipped quite a lot of questions for my E-maths paper 1 in the 1st round. No calculator was allowed for paper 1. I finished all the questions during my second round of checking. I think it is still all right. I must get at least 65% for my paper 1.
Tomorrow's paper is geography, another subject I have high standard for. There are lots of things to memorise.
Wish me luck....5 days to go

Exams---CA2

The september holidays is over. About 2 more weeks before end-of-year exams starts. The first will be English paper.
Anyway, here are my exams marks for Term 3, CA2. They are the average marks.
English: 64.8--B4
Chinese: 56--C5
Additional Maths: 41--E8
Maths: 60.9--B4
Biology: 63.4--B4
Combined Physics and Chemistry: 53.8--C6
Combined Social Studies and Geography: 78.7--A1
I thought it was quite alright, except for my A maths, Biology and combined Physics and Chemistry. The second test for biology was difficult so it pull down my bio marks. As for my A maths, until now, I had only passed 2 tests. All I wish is to pass my A maths. Physics and Chemistry are difficult for me, as they require a lot of calculations.
I must work hard for my end-of-year exams!

September hols is coming

September holidays is coming soon. It falls on the 2nd of September. Anyway, it is only 1 week of "break", and we still need to go back to school for extra lessons. Besides, there will be a lot of homework to "keep me company".
I had endured at least 2 weeks of constant tests. One test per day. I had enough. The teachers keep reminding us that after the September holidays, it will soon be our end-of-year exams.
Is school is all about exams? Many people don't think so, but to me, it is so.
Term 1:
Lots of tests
March holidays:
homework
Term 2:
prepare for mid-year exams
mid-year exams
June holidays:
Lots of homework
Term 3:
lots of tests
September holidays:
homework
Term 4:
prepare for end-of-year exams
end-of-year exams
December holidays
And it starts all over again. I am tired of it. Study, tests, exams, this is school.

National Day

I was right. The "celebration" for national day in my school was so pathetic. It can't even be considered a celebration. We just watch some videos about the SARS crisis and that's it. We then went back to class to discuss it with our teacher.
Furthermore, most students from other schools got to wear red and white while we were the ONLY school that was dressed in sombre uniforms. We looked like we were going to attend a funeral. It was "refreshing to see that our school is so unique". The thing I hated most was they gave excuses as to why we were not allow to wear red and white. The reason being, (quote) " We gave you freedom, but some of you abused it". It was only 'some', not all, which means that majority were all right, just a few spoilsports. Why do we allow our spirits to be crushed by these few? We could have continued with our celebrations.
I was really disappointed by this......

Happy National Day?

Singapore's national day is on 9th of August.
There is something terribly wrong with my school. I feel that they are not putting enough effort in the celebrations. We aren't allow to wear red and white to school on the eve of national day. The celebration is going to be boring, even the teachers say so. One teacher told us it is going to be "one-man talk", meaning there is going to be "lectures". What is this? It is the nation's birthday, why are the celebration lukewarm?
The same goes for our racial harmony day, the other schools allow their students to wear their races costumes while we can't. Not only that, the teachers made all sort of excuses why they don't let us wear. Besides we never really celebrated the day, we only saw a play and thats it. I still remembered the good old days in my primary school where we celebrated racial harmony day. I feel so ashamed, why this is happening to my school?
On a good note, I can get to enjoy 2 days of holiday. Tomorrow is going to be a half day for us, 9th and 10th are holidays.
Happy National Day! >.<

Internet dis-connection

I am so fed-up with the computer. It gives me lots of problems.
Every other day it would create problems for me. The latest happened 2 days ago, there was something wrong with maplestory so I decided to re-download it. Each download needed 8 hours, guess what, I had to download 4 times before I can finally play. Each time, there is something with the internet connection.
My internet connection is the worst. Most of the time, it will get cut off. I don't really know how to describe the problem. I am not a expert in computers but it was I who solve the problems every time.
My dear internet and maplestory, please don't do this to me....

Annual NAPFA test

Today, was our National Physical Fitness Award Test (NAPFA) 2.4 km run. I already went for my 5 stations. The 5 stations consisted of shuttle run, standing broad-jump, inclined pull-up, sit-ups and sit-and-reach.
For the 2.4 km run, it is a thing we all dread each year. The run is equal to 10 rounds around the field. The cut off time for girls is 19 minutes. But to pass (for a 15 year old girl) is 1810. My timing is 1750, which meant I got E (1 point). To me, this was quite good. I do not have much hope for the run anyway. Last year, I failed the run and I need to re-run again.
These few days have been raining all day long, which makes the field so muddy and squishy. After the run, our shoes, socks and legs were all stained with mud and grass. It was so disgusting.
This year's NAPFA was over, but there was still next year....

Back from Camp

I returned home from camp today.
I must admit, it was quite fun. Although, the food was sort of horrible. We did lots of activities like rock-climbing, build our own raft and night-walk. The night-walk wasn't that scary, we had to walk in a dark place with no lights and could not bring our torchlights. In twos, we walk into the "jungle" path, it was so dark that you couldn't really see your friend. Some of the lucky ones saw fire-flies.
One the first day, we slept at about 12 to 1 plus, me and my friends were about to sleep when the teachers called all to get out of their tents. The reason being, it was already lights-out but many people were still talking and walking. I slept quite badly, I kept waking up.
The second day, my section first activity was rafting. Each group had to build their own raft. But every group's raft didn't even manage to get into the water. The rock-climbing was difficult. My nails became rough because of the "rocks". We had a camp-fire that night and sang lots of cheers and songs.
The bathrooms were small with no hooks to hang our clothes and we rushed through our bath. Worst of all, all the toilets cannot be flushed. We heard that the boys' bathrooms had no curtains, which means they were "bathing for all to see".
We were all discussing what we were going to do the moment we got home. Most of us wanted to take a long, long bath and had some proper food.
Many of us were sun-burnt. My hands and face were all red and hurt.
I was glad to be back after two days without proper bath and food and computer.

Updates

1 more week before school reopens, and then it will be the Sec 3 Camp. I dread this day. There are still some homework I didn't do, like the English book review. The book is really boring.
I have enjoyed myself during this school holiday. I played lots of maplestory and neopets and at last, I bought the books I always wanted. These are the books I bought, The Princess Diaries Sixsational by Meg Cabot and The Frog Prince by Gillian Mcknight. I went from bookstore to bookstore in search of these books, and each time I was disappointed.
But now, they are mine. I've already finished the books.
Going to enjoy the last few days of my holidays.

Special day

Today was a special day. It was our duty to mend the stations in Zoolympix 2006. No adults were there to help us, just us, a bunch of Sec 3 students. My station was the Cheetah Catch-Up. I mended the station with two other friends. Besides explaining the game and rules, we also must sell posters. We sold a lot of posters which costed 1 dollar. However, we only managed to sell 1 goodie bag, as many people already bought it at the registration counter.
Many children came to play at our station. To participate in Zoolympix, you have to buy the goodie bag which contains an activity book. There are six stations to complete.
It was an enriching experience for us, because we have to approach strangers to buy posters and explain the rules to them. We also did a lot of complaining, about how we could have stay at home and watch TV and play computer games instead of "wasting" our time here. We came to the Zoo at 8.45am and the program ended at 4.15pm. We were all very tired at the end.
On Thursday, 8th June, we did a SPH Wildlife Buddy Media Launch. We have to buddy up with little kids to explain about aquatic animals like the sea lions. It was hard talking to them. The media was there to interview some students. On Friday, I had a nice surprise, my picture was in the newspaper. Although, it only showed the side of my face, I was really pleased.
Take Care

Updates

This is the second week of the June holidays. I have just started doing my homework. First week was mostly for extra classes and computer games. Now, I still play but not that much. I am worry that I may not be able to complete my homework on time.
About two more weeks before school reopens, and then is camp-time.

Monday, May 29, 2006

Updates

Today is the start of the June holidays. I have a lot of extra classes in school. But because today is "O" Levels Mother Tongue Paper, we can't go to school.
This is very scary as next year will be my turn to sit for "O" Levels. It just shows how fast time fly.
My extra classes will last for about a week and there will be plenty of homework.

Results

I got back my report book today. Here are my results for mid year exams. They are overall results consist of CA1 and SA1.
English: 55.6 (C5)
Chinese: 60.6 (B4)
A maths: 46.2 (D7)
Maths: 59.3 (C5)
Biology: 71.5 (A2)
Combined Science: 65.6 (B3)
Combined Humanities: 72.9 (A2)
I think my results are not too bad. However, I was shocked that I am 4th in class. I didn't think I can do it. My overall percentage is 61.7.
1 more day before the June holidays.
Best Wishes

camping woes--part 2

Today, we had a briefing from our camp guide. He told us all these stuff about the safety, activities and "punishments" during the camp.
He said he want to make this camp an enjoyable and exciting one. But in my opinion, this camp(and all the other camps) are going to be a torturous one.
He said that a group which consist of 20 people only have 15 minutes to bath. What kind of life is this? I usually take more than 30 minutes to bath. He said if we take more than the time given, we may have no meals and may go to sleep at midnight. How dare he threaten us with no food and delay our sleeping time! We are born free, they have no rights to control us. Besides who are they to control us?
Furthermore, we cannot bring any electronic appliances like mp3 and handphones. The life there will be primitive, we are to bath with cold water and away from any means to communicate with the world. For me, even on hot days, I still bath with warm water.
I hope that something nasty happens during the camp. Those activities which we must participate are "dangerous", they include rafting and rock climbing. Hope it rains heavily with thunder and lighting throughout the camp. The teacher-in-charge had already told us that if it is just drizzling, we will still continue the activities. By raining heavily is the only way I could escape.
Here are some ways you could make them pay for organising this camp. For example, you could fall ill, down with flu or food poisoning(the ones who organise this camp will be blamed), heatstroke, or injuries from the activities played. It is going to sweet revenge.
All these may seem childish, but I really resent the idea of camping.
I am finding all ways to get out of it.

camping woes

Sec 3 camp is coming, and I dread this day. It is compulsory for all to attend. The camp will be on the 28th, 29th and 30th of June, right after our 1 month holiday.
I hate camping because I felt that we are deprive of our basic rights such as air-cons, fans and even proper baths. It is disgusting to sleep with others in a tent that is stuffy and with no proper beds. Besides, the weather is so warm nowadays, to have no air-cons or even fans, it is going to be roasting. There will be so many people waiting for their turn to take a bath that we have to be quick or they'll be banging at the bathroom door. I do not have a pleasant experience during my last camp. The food is yucky, this is one dish I can't forget : tomato with cucumber, throughout the camp, I think I just ate the rice. The is only a reason why I hate going to camp. I am a fussy eater and I hate anything with garlic in it.
Then there is the games which are suppose to promote coorperation and teamwork. I 've play enough of these games in my school-life. I don't think it is going to help us. I also hate getting myself wet, I don't mind it when I am in the swimming pool, but to get wet in a river or sea send shivers down my spine.
The more my family and friends say how it is going to be fun in a camp, the more I resist the idea. I cannot see how "fun" and "unforgettable" it is going to be. It will be wet, stuffy, yucky, sweaty during the camp.
The only way to get of the camp is to fall sick. I really hope that I can be ill.

Exams--part 7...the last part

I was right...today's "A" maths paper was a goner, forever lost.
Today was the last day of examinations and yet they do this to me. I only knew how to do some questions, the others were either half-done or left blank. I am that pathetic.
All I want is to pass my "A" maths, just 50 marks. I don't think I can even do that. I am very miserable right now, I nearly cried when I saw the paper. The questions were so difficult, (maybe not that difficult to other people).
How could the teachers do this to us? Do they "enjoy" watching us suffer?
So here I am, seeking solace in the virtual world.
Pray with me

Exams--part 6

Today's exam is Geography. The exam only takes 45 minutes, that is why I am home so early. I am utterly disappointed, I over-estimated my time and thus didn't finish my questions. I spent at least 30 minutes on the map reading questions and was left with only a few minutes to do the second question. I lost 4 marks on the last part of the second question. The paper is only 25 marks.
I had high expectations for Geography as I always get good marks for my tests.
I am really sad. Hope that I can still get the marks I want for Geography.
Tomorrow is the last exam, "A" maths. "A" stands for additional. I don't want to think about it, it is going to be goner.
( 9 down, 1 to go )
Not looking forward to that...

Exams--part 5

Today's exam was E maths paper 2. It was difficult. I skipped the whole question 1 which was 9 marks. I think I am going to make it this time. Many of my friends also said it was difficult.
I don't know why teachers like to "torture" us so much. First was E maths paper 1, now this. I do not want to get back my paper.
Anyway, tomorrow is Geography, one of my favourite subjects. I really hope I can do very well in this, to help my Social Studies.
( 8 down, 2 to go )
2 days before torture ends....

Exams--part 4

Today's Chemistry was not that difficult and easy. I forgot some of the notes I study, example the formula for Iron(III) Oxide, I wrote FeO3, but the correct answer is Fe2O3.
Tomorrow is a public holiday, so it is going to be a long weekend. There is a show on channel 5 I must watch, it features Michael Buble.
It is said that E Maths paper 2 is a tricky one, if that is true, then I am doomed.
( 7 down, 3 to go )
Until next time

Happy 15th Birthday!

Finally, I am 15. I already celebrated it with my family last Saturday.
The " extra luck " did not really work, the E maths paper was difficult. I think I am not going to make it this time, but there is still paper 2. Paper 2 may not be tougher than paper 1, I hope. I skipped about 3 questions completely, all were on graphs. Graphs is one of my worst topics, other than indices and algebra.
On a good note, the Biology paper 1 was quite easy. I did not study Biology last night, spent the whole day studying maths. I just read through my file today. I had got most questions right.
Tomorrow is Chemistry.
( 6 down, 4 to go )

Exams--part 3

Today's Physics was a disaster. I already lost about 5 marks, when I check my textbook for the answers. I can't believe I got the SI unit for length wrong.
Hope that at least I can get 60 and above.
Tomorrow is my E Maths paper 1 and Biology paper 1. The biology should be quite alright, I am worried about E Maths. Maths is never my "strong" subject.
I will be turning 15 tomorrow. A day I have been waiting.
Hope that I will have extra luck tomorrow.

Exams--part 2

Today's exams were Social Studies and Biology Paper 2. The social studies paper was only 1 hour long. I thought my essay on Northern Ireland is quite alright. I memorised it better than the Sri Lanka.
After that, when all the other students had left, my class had Biology paper. We are the only class taking pure biology. The paper however was not very easy. I can't remember all the points to write in my essays. I am so forgetful, I didn't bring my four-leaf clover to school. I always bring it when I had exams.
Tomorrow is combine Physics. I am not that good in Physics, need to memorise a lot of facts and formulas.
( 4 down, 7 to go)
( 2 days before my birthday)
'good luck'

5-5-06

More good news. Today, which was a normal school day, it was early dismissal for us.
The reason was that our school is use as a polling station for the upcoming General Election. No is to stay back in school, to make sure everyone do so, we will be "escort" out of the school by our teachers.
On the 18th of May, it will be Marking Day, which means school holiday for us. On the 19th, because of the elections, we are given one day off. I am so happy, it is going to be a long weekend and the best thing is that exams are over.
(2 more days till main exams)
(5 more days till my birthday)
e

Exams -- part 1

Exams really "sap" your energy from you. You have to use your brainpower. Just after two days of exams, my hand ached from gripping the pen too tightly. I suffered from stiff neck and back pain due to sitting on the chair, for more than two hours, writing away. My eyes also hurt.
On a good side, exams days are one of my favourite days in school. I almost look forward to it. The reason being that only on exams days are we allow to go home early. We can leave right after the paper. Sometimes, the exam only takes 45 minutes, so by 9 am, I am home.
(2 down, many to go)

school stuff....part 1

There are somethings I don't like in my school.
First, even if it was a rainy day, so long it did not rain at the time we need to assemble at the "parade square", we were to sit on the wet ground. At times, it just stop raining a few minutes ago, and we still must sit or squat on the floor. It is digusting, and the skirt takes a long time to dry. At the very least, they should let us stand throughout the assembly or go to the hall for assembly.
Second, from tomorrow onwards, nobody is to open the classrooms at the beginning of the day. Before, the chairman of the class can take the keys and open the classroom to let the classmates in. This is good as those whose parents need to go to work early, can stay in the class and do homework. There are many students who come to school early, some as early as 6.30 am. What will they do if the classrooms are not open?
I, personally reach school at 7, which is still quite early. I hate to have to wait in the canteen or anywhere else. The classroom gives me a sense of security because only my classmates can come in.
This "new rule" will take place until the end of the term. The reason behind this rule is that we always came down late for assembly. The teachers had enough, thus this new rule is born... Apparently, this will prevent such things from happening again. Wonder if it is true....
( 1 more day till exam)

To the Zoo-13 Feb

13th February was the start of our 1 week school holiday.
For CIP, I was learning to be a Zoo guide. CIP means Community Involvement Programme.
It was a 3 hour lesson. As there was nothing much, I will not be focusing on that.
After lunch, it was free and easy for us. Together with my friends, we went to the new Australia Outback. We also visited other animals like the polar bear. At 2.30, we were supposed to gather. That day was the day of the opening of the new Wildlife Healthcare and Research Centre. We were privileged to be the only students there to witness it. The president was also there. We were given a tour inside the hospital, we felt so proud.
After that, we went to a sort of "banquet" room where we enjoyed some light food and desserts. So in a way, "we ate what the president ate". We took photos with the president and not only that, we got to have free elephant and tram rides.
That was great.

Sports Carnival

Today was the last day of school it was also our Sports Carnival. It was not " Sports Day " because our principal said that on sports days, only a few were taking part, whereas sports carnival was everyone got to take part.
There were many events such as 'banner making', 'sandwich making', 'anti-drug poster and anti-theft collar pin design making', 'mascot making', 'road relay', 'mass skipping', 'beep test' and 'dancing marathon'. Each of us was involved in something.
I was in the mass skipping. 10 of us jumping together while 2 swing the rope. Our class got into the final 3. We were the third in the secong round. But there were no medals for us, only the first and second place got medals.
Our class mascot was a banana. We all wore yellow shirts to support.
Our class did win some medals though. In the 'beep test', the girls got first. In the 'road relay', out team got first. In the 'sandwich making', we got second.
I had fun today although my legs were very painful.
(Holidays starts next week.)

sch news: 25th Feb

Today, my father is returning to Singapore. He went to Thailand to work.
Yesterday, my class had a bag-check by the teachers in search of handphones. We must emptied our bags and took out every book that was under the table. The teachers checked everywhere, including the IPP kit, boots which the students brought for their CCA, pencil-cases, pockets etc. The only place they didn't check is the inside of the over-head projector (OHP) and the casing that hold cables and wires. Last year, some of my classmates hid their handphones inside the casing. They "ripped" out the cover and slot handphones inside.
One of my classmates put his handphone inside my bag. I was so frightened and urged him to take it out. In the end, he put it inside a small bag where he kept his boots and uniform. The teacher checked his boots and uniform but didn't check the bag. So, the handphone was not discovered.
None of us were caught, what amused me was the teachers praised us. They told us to "keep up the good job". During recess, my friend and I had a good laugh about this. " It was not that we didn't bring handphones but how to hide them"
Warmest Wishes

sch news: 20th Feb

Today, my class had a debate with another class. The motion was "madia today has much vice". My class was the proposition team.
The opposition team was clearly the "stronger", "well-prepared" team. Most of them were able to project their voices. Anyway, my class had put in a lot of effort. Although my class lost, I still had a good time listening to their points.
Still lots of tests coming...
'Holidays" is also coming....

T.D Day

On February 15 was T.D. Day. I cannot disclosed what the day was, so sorry.
First , we had a talk in the school hall. We were told that there will be food and electricity rationing.
After that, it was back to study. But before long, we had the I.P.P Exercise. It stands for In Place Protection. We must off all electrical appliances including fans and lights. We used trash bags and masking tapes to "seal" up the windows and doors. Our teacher told us to seal up a part of the windows as it was only an exercise. We had to stay inside the stuffy classroom and wait for the all clear signal.
For recess, all the stalls were closed. Instead. we were given a coupon to get our 'ration'. Back in class, the electricity was cut off. We had to study in a hot, dim classroom. We were all sweaty and uncomfortable. This is a message to us that we should treasure what we have.
After all it was quite a fun day.

Valentine's Day

Just a few more days and it will be Valentine's Day.
In my school, Valentine's Day is an "important" affair. Our gift shop will be selling roses and soft toys. On Monday, there will be songs dedication. A lot of people had already ordered the roses.
For me, there is nothing to look forward to. If you get what I mean....
Anyway, wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day.

CNY: day 3

It was the last day of celebrations. We went to Sentosa to "see" Sentosa Flowers 2006. The flowers are so beautiful.
We had to cut short our outing as I had a stomachache. In the end, my parents brought me back home while the others continue their "tour". At night, we had a seafood dinner before bidding goodbye as the next day was a school day. I hate it and I had a test.
=)

CNY: day 1 and 2

We woke up early in the morning to visit our relatives. We went to quite a lot of places before going back to my cousins' house. We ate lunch there. My uncle, auntie and cousin were not at home as they had lion dance performances. We went home at night and watched TV until midnight.
The next day, we went to my mother-side grandmother's house, then we met up with my uncle's family. My cousin brought her dog along as it was the Year of the Dog. Everybody just love him. They gave him treats and cuddles. My cousins and I collected a lot of Red Packets.

(sorry to take such a long time to write)

CNY: eve

We went to my grandparents' house in the afternoon. My cousin's dog even had new clothes!
After dinner, all of us went to Far East Flora to buy some flowers for the new year. I bought tulips and a pot of plant.
When we returned home, it was already 10 o'clock. I watched TV until 1 in the morning with my father and brother.

Friday, January 27, 2006

CNY: day before eve

Today I went home at about 10.30am. School ended early, we had no lessons except watching a Chinese New Year concert. Not many schools dismissed early as today was not the eve of Chinese New Year.
Tonight, I am having my reunion dinner with my uncle's family and grandparents. We usually have reunion dinner at the eve.
Wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year!

Updates

Chinese New Year is just round the corner... 2 more days to be exact.

Updates

The rain had finally stopped. It had stopped for a few days, but I did not have time to write in my blog.
My father came back from Korea on Sunday and went to Thailand on Tuesday. I had to go to school all by myself.
Lots of homework, and tests are coming... This Friday, I have an English test. Followed by Social Studies on Tuesday, Physics and "A" maths on Wednesday, maths on the following Thursday and so on...
I can't stand it, teachers kept telling us about "O" levels... I barely have time to go online.

Help!!

Wet, Wet day

It had been raining since Friday. Rain, rain all day long. In some countries, it is snowing, but in Singapore it is raining.
It is very cool, at night, I would wear long pants and socks to sleep.
I hope the rain would not stop. I loved rainy days especially at night. I like this song call "I loved a rainy night".
However, my father was working in another country so he can't drive me to school, so I hope it will not rain when I am going to school. He will be back this Sunday.

Warmest Wishes

sch news 2006

It was the first day of school in 2006. It was back to the usual stuff I always did, woke up at 6am, went to school.....
The guys all looked so "weird" in their long pants. It made them looked taller. I had friends from my former class, I still keep in touch with my Sec 2 friends. My class was quite all right, except the guys were not that active. When we had a free period, they just sit on the chairs and sleep... I hope they will change, I like the guys to be fun-loving and "active". Today, we got to know our teachers and classmates. Tomorrow, it was back to study.
(Today, 3rd of Jan, is my brother's birthday)

Farewell....Old Year

It is the end of another year.
School year is about to start, again. Not that I like it...
Schoolbags are being packed, and the "excitement" of meeting your new teachers and friends.
I don't like going to school... You have to wake up early, have late lunches, come home at about 4pm on "normal" days, evening on "special" days. No computers even if parents say you can play after finishing homework....which can never be finished. I usually have breakfast at 6am, lunch at 4pm and dinner at 7pm. I have a break at 10am in school but I did not eat. Who would if you just have breakfast? Our classes end at 2.10pm.
After dinner, it is doing homework. For example: the homework takes about 2 hours to finish, it will be 9 and then it is time for bed... Though, many of my friends slept at midnight.
I will always say 'I hate school' whenever I have the chance, then I will give a 101 reasons to why "we should not go the school". Although that does not change anything, at least I will feel better.
I will say again:
Farewell Old Year
"Unhappy" New Year

Christmas spirit in the air

On Christmas eve, at about 4 o'clock, my family and uncle's family went to Orchard Cineplex to watch The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. After that, we went to eat dinner. We took a "stroll" down Orchard Road to look at the lightings. It was a flood of people. I hated it when some people used party sprays. They will sprayed it on passers-by.
Later, we drove to Bugis Juction. We were enjoying the fountain while my uncle went to look for coffee-house. Suddenly, a youth "smacked" another youth's helmet. The transparent cover came out. The youth fell down and was kicked by the two youths. They were just beside us. We were pulled away by our parents and walked away quickly. We were all shaken by this. We were still discussing about it when we went to the a coffee-house. To think that something like this would happen before our eyes.
We went home at about 11pm. I got online and had a Christmas countdown in Maplestory. I played until 1am. Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas??

To me, Christmas is just another day. Each year, Christmas meant less and less. As we grow older, we recieved less presents. Few years ago, we had celebrations in my uncle's house. This year, I am going to watch The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe with my uncle's family.
I don't know how to describe that feeling. That when you see people bought lots of gifts and you wonder why they buy "everything" (not practical things). Although, my father bought presents for us, I don't know what to buy. We did not put up a Christmas tree this year. I made a Christmas wreath and some snowflakes.
I sent out Christmas greetings to my MSN friends, but only some replied. It made me very happy as this was the first time I recieved greetings online.
Anyway, I want to wish all of you Merry Christmas!

God Jul (Merry Christmas)
Best Wishes everyone

lyrics written by me--Part 2

Well, it is the Christmas season. Here is a song "written" by me. It may not be original but I am very proud of it.
Aragorn was Gondor's King
often known as Elessar
He married Arwen of Rivendell
the Evenstar of her fair kindred
Legolas was an elven prince
whose father was Mirkwood's King
Fleet-footed and fair was his skin
Keen were the eyes of Legolas
One of the nine companions
who set out together to destroy the Ring
Gimli was Gloin's son
A dwarf that dwelt in Glittering Caves
and was known as an Elf-friend
He held an axe in his hand
Faramir was Denethor's son
the last steward of Minas Tirth
He married Eowyn of The Mark
the shieldmaiden of Rohan
The younger brother of Boromir
who was slained by some orcs
Gandalf was the white wizard
and was known as Mithrandir
He rode on a horse called Shadowfax
the king of all the horses
Sam and Frodo, Merry and Pippin
They were hobbits from the Shire
The Ring possessed by Bilbo Baggins
was in fact the One Ring
The ring that was forged in Mount Doom
wore by Sauron and Gollum
( lyrics by ssk a.k.a adrielle)
What do you think? It is to be sing to the tune of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing". You will find that it would mostly fit in. Hope all you like it. I like the first two chorus, it is the most successful. My brother helped in the making of this song too.
Please comment on it....
Best Wishes

Vacation at Malaysia

On December 11, My family, uncle's and aunt's families went to Malaysia ( 3 families ). It was a last minute decision. After lunch at my uncle's house, we drived to Malaysia.
We reached Melacca at about evening time. We stayed in a family budget hotel as it was only for one night. We went to visited the night-market and had dinner at a chicken rice stall.
Next morning, we leave the hotel to "search" for breakfast. We travelled around the city to look for breakfast but most stalls opened at 10 am. At last, we went to a nearby R & R to eat A and W. We drank root beer and ate hamburgers. After that, we went Mines Resort shopping center.
We ate sushi for lunch.
On our way to Bukit Tinggi, we got lost a few times. At evening, we reached Bukit Tinggi Resort. It was quite cool there. The resort was set like a Holland Village. We walked around and found out that most shops closed at 7.00, 9.00 pm. We ate at La Flamme Sidewalk Deli, a pizza shop. After dinner, it was already 9.30. We watched a show there.
7.30 was our morning call. We ate a buffet breakfast. We went bowling afterwards. My score was 18 and 47. After that, we to the Botanical Garden and Japanese Tea House. We also went horse riding. It was really fun. My cousins, brothers and I had horse riding lessons. My horse was called 'Patch'. For dinner, we had roasted chicken at Le Poulet Roti.
Next morning, 14 December, we packed up. Before we left, we went to the Rabbit Farm. We went to the same R & R to eat KFC and bought things. We reached Singapore at about 7 somthing.
Thats all for now

chocolates

Well, I decided to write a little more about myself.
I like chocolates very much. I like dark chocolate best. At home now, I have 5 packets of chocolates. Some of them are bought from the airport, whenever my father go overseas, he would buy chocolates for us.
Usually, I would either eat 'Cadbury' or 'Ferrero Rocher'.
The best dark chocolate I have eaten so far is 'Droste', produced in Holland.
The most expensive chocolate in my home now is 'Lindt'. It is made in Switzerland. It is swiss dark chocolate thins.
Besides chocolates, I also like ice-cream. My favorites are "cherry garcia", "New York super fudge chunk", "chocolate cake", "mint and chocolate chips", "chocolate chips" and many more. My favorite brands are 'Ben and Jerry's' and 'Haagen Dazs'.
Thats all for now

Another day...Part 2

I just came back from my school. The teacher did get my father's E-mail after all. My Sec 3 class has Pure Science and 'A' Maths. I won't cry any more. No use crying anyway. Some of my Sec 2 friends are also in my class.
But if anything "go wrong", like I failed my Maths, the teacher who"encouraged" me to go to this class is to be blamed. (being childish again)
Wish me luck : )

Another day...

Today, I am going back to school to know which class I go to next year. I am really nervous.
Remember the last time I wrote about the "class thing" (refered to Dead...), I wanted to go to another class but.........? I don't want to talk about it. I dread what I am going to find.
I don't know if my teacher got my father's E-mail because she did not reply back. If I go to my "choice" class, I am afraid that I will regret it. If I go to my father's "choice" class, I will not like it.
What am I going to do?????

GOF

Yesterday, I went to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with my mother and brothers. It was really good, better than the Prisoner of Azkaban (POA). I would give GOF 4 stars out of 5. In my opinion, the POA was too much of a comedy. I was quite disappointed by it as POA was my favorite book. I read more than 10 times.
I like the first two films best because all of the actors are so "cute", especially Draco. My favourite character in the movie is Draco. Hope all of you enjoyed it.
Until next time :-)

lyrics written by me

Greetings everyone! Hope all of you are fine.
Christmas is round the corner so here is something for you to enjoy.

Its that time of the year
when winter appear
The cold and snowy days
and slippery walkways
Sitting around the fire
telling winter's tales
Christmas is here
just like any other year
Its just another winter's tale
of sleigh bells and christmas lights
In the world where everything is wrong
something finally went right
Green, red and white
the colours of christmas
Why can't we see that nowadays
I hope one day I may
Sitting around the fire
telling winter's tales
Christmas is here
just like any other year
( lyrics by ssk a.k.a adrielle)
This is an original song compose by me, I hope. I got my ideas from christmas songs I heard.
Please do not copy my lyrics. I spent lots of time on it. I will put some more lyrics I wrote next time. There is one about the characters in Lord of the Rings.

Maths........Yuck!

Having seen the title, you should know that I dislike or even hate Maths.
One of my most hated subject is Maths. I am not too good in it. That is the reason I am not choosing 'A' Maths as a subject. I started hating Maths when I was in Primary 3. Although, I did not fail in almost all my Maths tests and exams, I will never like it. I hate graphs, fractions, angles...... worst of all ALGEBRA. I am not like those people who treat Maths as a "hobby", doing Maths as if they were "drinking water". ( It is just an exaggeration ) Whenever I see lots of Maths questions, my brain would go dead. I just can't think.
When I encounter a question I don't know how to do, I will just leave it aside, without bothering the other questions. I know this attitude is not good, but I can't help it. If I am too annoyed with the questions, I would throw the books or papers on the floor and stamp on them. Somtimes, I even cried. Maths s****.
This is probably one of the very harsh blog I have ever written. This is also the first time I write a bad word. Some of you who like Maths may even write unkind comments. But this is how I feel about Maths. I hate Maths!!!!!
( find how many times I write "I hate Maths")
